We had that set up for 27 years with our Thermador "option 3" It served us well, although with the warming drawer that low, you may be less likely to use it as often as you might with it higher up. This was ours just before we retired it last year, and went to a range instead... LOL, I just noticed the wooden spoon to keep the oven door closed! I used that method for about the last six months of it's life because of a broken door spring :)

I reported a repair & had the service technician come out to check out the warming drawer. His explanation after verifying the temperature is correct is that the drawer is UL certified (Underwriter's Laboratory) & pretty much operating as designed -- not a direct quote. I told him that my assessment of the situation is that this is a design problem. KA has a great idea to add additional capabilities to the warming drawer (slow cooking -- works great, I can do multiple dishes simultaneously), but the drawer is commonly being insulated when placed under a single or double oven. KA does not design for serious cooks (for example, they design a maximum size 30" warming drawer so it will fit nicely under the oven stack). Serious cooks want & need their warming drawers more accessible. Thus I installed under my 36 inch KA cooktop (& scoop drawer). With the gaps left between the drawer & the spice pullouts I had the cabinet maker create filler panels on the island beside the drawer. I asked the technician to report my concerns. In the meantime I sent an email to KA & their net was working-as-designed, move the utencils (I have to use an oven mit with the metal handled utencils in the drawer after using the slow cooker function.) I have noticed a blog & I will attempt to get there over the next few weeks to see what response I get. Additionally, DH had some water heater insulation we placed on top of the warming drawer. Although it reduced the temperature a few degrees, I could still not hold my metal-handled utencils with my bare hand. The KD is asking the cabinet guy if a panel can be built above the warming drawer. If anyone else uses this feature on the KA Warming Drawer I'm interested in your experience.

I wanted to store my Cuisinart with the work bowl attached in a 15" drawer, but it wasn't worth a dedicated drawer for one item, so I put it on the counter. You can also put some larger items over the fridge. I have a stockpot in mine. All my glassware is stored in a 4-drawer cabinet--three drawers of 6 1/4" and bottom of 9 1/2". There's a lot of room in there. My pie plates and rectangular baking pans are stacked. The only one that annoys me is the 9 x 13 pan on the bottom, but I usually use smaller pans for just us two. I have a few stacks of two, like colanders and smaller baking pans. Covered casseroles are stored individually in the drawer. I also have a set of nested bowls, but they would be stacked even if I stored other pans on edge.

One of the Miele 18" DW's has a removable cutlery rack. So, get 3 or 4 of these racks. One is in the DW, and the other 2 or 3 are in shallow drawers as the cutlery divider. Swap out whenever you've washed a fully loaded rack of dirty cutlery. Miele has written about this too.
