Can an induction cooktop be used with a stainless steel countertop?

Oh yeah!!! Any darn where, any motif, color scheme, counters, etc. Just make sure you have enough clearance underneath. And ventilation too, if you are a serious cook. The website, www.theinductionsite.com was a great resource for me when choosing. The top is black, many trims are stainless, depending on which brand you choose. I've used electric coils, gas, and induction. My heart sings joyously when I cook on induction. or it could be the food joyously singing cooking on a respectful and responsive cooking miracle :)

If the induction unit already has a safety ground there is no reason to further ground the counter, and a number of possible hazards. You will notice that toasters and other items with exposed live heating elements do not ground the case. There are times when having a ground in close proximity to live items is more dangerous.

Do the Le Crueset tri-ply line have glass lids? I haven't seen this brand locally. Glass lids are one of my high priorities because I like to keep track of my simmering and when water is about to boil. All the Tramontina I've seen at Tuesday Morning have that groove around the bottom that I don't like. Also, the pieces I've seen have a seam underneath the lip at the top. Both the groove and the seam worry me because I know they'll tend to catch all the drips and messes of cooking and then be harder to clean. DH is always helpful but not really the most finicky pot washer and I like to encourage him by keeping things simple for him. He absolutely would not remember to turn the cookware over all the time to make sure he got all the crevices clean.

Bosch stainless steel induction cooktop

We have the Bosch 800 induction with the stainless steel edges at the back and front. Crumbs have never been an issue for me. When I wipe the cooktop after cleaning, I just give a quick wipe around the edges, as well, and it's good to go. I've never had a ceramic cooktop, only gas prior to this, but the induction stays cool around the edges and crumbs don't seem to bake on at that area.

The problem is oversized pans. If you read your appliance manufacturer's instructions, you aren't to use a pan larger than the pan outline on the appliance. People don't and the oversized hot pan conducts heat onto the countertop surface. This is particularly worrisome if the top is engineered stone as the tops in your pictures apparently are. This crack is from using an engineered stone island top as an ironing board, and irons aren't all that hot and as consistently hot as a pan on a stove. She can live with this, she has little choice but replacement, however, a blowout in a cooktop cutout corner would probably permanently distort the engineered stone and become visible with contamination soon. Just because you can do something (like flush mount a cooktop) doesn't mean you should.

In respose to the original question, yes. Go for it you'll love it and I think it will look great.

Just making sure you are understanding what I'm concerned about. It's not the aesthetics, it's whether or not the stainless steel will interfere with or damage the performance of the induction cooktop over time, since induction cooktops work using magnetism and only work with magnetic cookware? Thanks for the feedback. I'll check out the website too.
