Granite Countertops (Napoli, Santa Cecilia Napoli, Giallo Napoli)
Comments (3)Good thought. Another thing that can happen is when they do chip off a sample for you. I was given a chip knocked off a corner of my slab. I used this to go around with for my backsplash. I had to keep saying, "But at home, my counter is more brown rather than taupe." Lighting makes all the difference too. Ouside, I thought I saw more cream colors, not so when it was installed in my kitchen. But, this could also be because when I looked at it over all I was concentrating on the cream. When we templated, I was concentrating on how I wanted the pattern and the cream was probably on in the diameter of the template....See MoreBacksplash going in this morning. Lighting question.
Comments (3)You may try higher color temperature light. I would check LED-s with a color tremperature above 3500K. In your case I would also consider the color rendering index (CRI). Most LED strip lights are in the 70-75 range I would go high-end to the 90 in your case. Kichler has one of those I think....See MoreGranite is in, backsplash next.
Comments (8)Your kitchen is rich and beautiful and all your choices reflect the traditional look you hoped to achieve. I think the espresso travertine will look perfect and IMHO the diagonal won't be too busy. Are you planning on the same BS above the pretty cream cabs as well? I was thinking that a whiter tumbled stone light Botticino or Bianco Antico might look great there. My thinking is, you'd be keeping in the same texture and family of stone as the darker travertine but matching the tone of the cream cabs like the travertine matches the tone of the darker cabs on the other run. Mixing it up could add additional interest as well. Here's one example of the tone of stone I was thinking of: It's just a thought. The travertine would look great too since it picks up the darker glazing color. Just wanted to throw another option out there....See MoreBacksplash ideas with cream kitchen cabinets and giallo ornamenta
Comments (7)Your kitchen looks very much like mine (perimeter in cashmere with a glaze, and cherry heirloom for island). My granite is sienna bordeaux and I think picking up one of the colrs in the island for the backsplash is how I am going to go. I had considered subway tiles in vanilla but I think it will be too much of all that color with our cabinets going all the way to ceiling (9ft). I know what you mean about it being too busy, though, which is my worry. Your kitchen is beautiful and I can't wait till mine gets to that stage! I actually think the paint color you have on backsplash right now looks really good, so you could use something in a solid color to pick up a granite color as long as it isn't too dark. By the way, are your island pendants by HInkley? They look like the ones I have been considering!...See MoreMrsShayne
