Restoration Hardware's 20% off sale for friends and family

FYI: I was informed by an employee at RH the other day that they are having their annual friends and family sale the weekend before Thanksgiving (17th and 18 th). I was told that you can get 20% off anything in the store. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but this is what was told to me over the phone by an employee at RH.

Yes it's true! Just got my postcard announcement in the mail this weekend. It says the sale is from Nov. 15th-18th. I think I'll buy some paint! = D

FYI - PB is having its 20% off all in-store items sale. The discount applies even to sale prices. I was just there to look at lighting and all task lighting is already 20% off, so the additional 20% is a great deal. I was considering the Cole Task Table Lamp and was impressed with the quality and the final price of under $100. Of course, I didn't end up buying task lighting but I did get a discount on a pair of beautiful iron bedside lamps and linen shades.

Breezy, I have been so busy I have only been on here sporadically and didn't realize your Dad had passed... I am so sorry for your loss - only 18 days, not much time to prepare for life without him. My thoughts are with you. re: the stools I will link below what i went with. pricey so the 20% off was a big savings. i like that they swivel. DH asked for a stool with a back but I had really wanted to tuck them under the counter when not in use as every inch in this kitchen counts and I didn't want too much bulk. i ended up getting one with a back for him and three without backs - my set up is one stool at the end and three on the side so i guess it will be okay but i hope it doesn't look weird like they were out of stock on four of the same or something. oh well, after what you've been through how can any of us worry too much about these very trivial matters. I got on their mailing list for some reason and I swear there are sales advertised just about every other week, which then get magically extended. Wonder if they're going out of business in the near future?

I get e-mails and mails from them almost daily about sales of 20-30%. I was in their store recently and it just seemed such a problem to have anyone help me. All I wanted was a boxed item of a Christmas candle electrical item, looks like candles but are electric, but I needed someone to get me one from storage and after blowing and whining, the girl finally got someone to get it for me, but the person that brought it whined about what a lot of trouble it was, and then when I decided to pay for it and the stack of towels I had chosen, they seemed insulted that I had interrupted their conversation about what they were going to be doing later when the stored closed. Customer service used to be so good in that store, but it has gone way, way, way downhill.

I have had nothing but excellent service from RH. If the customer service was that bad, you should contact the manager.

Can this coupon be used on sale items? I've been reading conflicting stories.

The friends and family sale is good from Nov 15-Nov 18 and is 20% off any regularly priced item (not good on things already marked down). The code to use online is HEMFF701. Hey, it says share it with your friends and you are all my friends, right?

The last time I sent my mom into RH for me it was a great experience. She was buying some silver sage towels for me on the last day of their most recent bath sale and of course they were sold out of the sizes I wanted. They offered to order them at the sale price and have them shipped to the house at no additional cost. My mom was amazed and will be shopping there again. I guess it depends on who you get, I think there is an overall decline everywhere in the quality of employee. I saw a report on 60 minutes that big corporations are hiring consultants to teach them how to cope with it!

Sadly, I would need around 75 percent off for RH to be in my budget!

daisyadair - do you have an outlet near you? I scored on Columbus Day weekend. I purchased teak outdoor furniture that was marked down 75% plus I had a 10% off coupon. I paid $1000 for $4,000 worth of teak furniture. Now I need to buy cushions for the sectional pieces I bought and was really hoping this F&F coupon could be applied to it. I'm disappointed it doesn't apply to sale items also.

Kimmers, I didn't even know that RH had outlets. My husband has put me on a strict "no decorating" budget until after the holidays :(
