Rae- DH does most of the work- I have been banned from touching walls because of all the cracks I put in the plaster walls in our last house when hanging pictures. I forgot to mention even though the job is a DIY- because of time constraints DH hung the drywall but we paid some handyman friend of my cousins to do all the taping and patching. We ended up paying him like 1300 bucks to get the job done before my 4 year old's birthday party in November- money down the drain since it has to be done again. I'm glad we didn't paint in there yet though. Years ago before we had kids- we would be fixing up and working together, now its mostly him because of the kids, they are still really little, and they need a lot of attention. Thanks for all your support- I'm really just hitting the wall w/ this renovation. I will never move again! We moved here in May and the whole house needed to be redone- not one upgrade since 1959! It was twice the size of our last house, and the property was 3 times the size, and we wouldn't be able to ever afford it if it had been in good condition. I think we are just in way over our heads- but there is no turning back now. Don't even get me started about the cluster #$#% that is my kitchne cabinet configuration at the moment.... I am not sure who to kill...designer, cabinet maker or installer. I wish that I was just missing some. sigh. But I am feeling your pain. sigh.

We're just starting bigger house remodel, including kitchen. DS's 5th birthday and party was Saturday. It was our last big bash in the house before we move out for demo. I was so busy cooking, cleaning, making a bee birthday cake, filling the pinata, and dealing with 10 screaming loud 5 y.o.s, that I didn't have time to obsess over the kitchen window size, oven cabinet debacle, decision on new siding, etc., etc. It DOES feel good to have the party overwith so I can go back to the planning though! Congrats on your progress!

My dryer has the steam cycle and the extra tumbling cycles. I definitely use the extra tumbling if I'm not going to be there to take the clothes out right away. I have used the steam cycle but it doesn't work as well as I had hoped. My issue is that by the time the clothes are in there for 45 minutes at least (because I can't take advantage of the good spin), I don't want to have to do an extra steam cycle just to get the wrinkles out (if it will even work by then). Oh, I didn't mention I'm not crazy about the sensor cycle, it seems to shut off way before the clothes are dry, so I'm just using the timed dry most of the time. Eventually I'll buy another set, of course by the time I'm done researching what to buy, these will be 10 years old LOL!
