What size hood for Cluny 1400
Comments (12)Hi ash2011. Thanks for info. But Er. I am not in US. I live a short ferry ride from France and no biggie to import from there for me. But as I say my French isn't really good enough to be sure I wasn't being done. And why the don't AC import the hoods. They are freely available here. (i was looking at one this week) Lacanche produce an approx 5 ft (1500mm) hood which I presume is meant for your cooker. Look on www.lacanche.co.uk/products/extraction to view the lacanche hood thats supposed to go with your range. Maybe you can find one available to you that has the same spec....See MoreLacanche Chagny 1400 / help!
Comments (1)I have the Cluny I love it. I didn't have room for the 1400 and opted for a Miele warming drawer. I use the warming drawer often. I think having the warming area on the range is awesome. The French Blue is pretty but the Delft.... is extremely elegant. I have the 4 burners and the traditional plate - great!...See MoreLacanche again: Cluny vs Sully
Comments (5)I have the Chagny 1400, we entertain a lot also and do all the holiday dinners. Yes the ovens are smaller, but that has not been a problem for me. I have the warming cabinet and really like it. BTW warming cabinet does so much more than just keep food and plates warm. The small petite oven gets used for roasting veggies and my husband likes it to bake his cornbread. I would encourage you to contact the folks at Art Culinaire, they are wonderful and are most helpful. They can arrange for you to visit a range owner so that you can experience the range first hand. Good luck....See MoreLacanche Cluny 1400 vs Sully
Comments (10)Hi Megs1030, I have the Chagny 1400, which is like the Cluny except it has the added smaller oven (which gets used all the time for roasting veggies, etc.). I use the warming drawer almost everyday. It is great for keeping prepared foods warm, slow cooking, and Sous vide cooking of meats. I do not find the smaller ovens an issue. No, I do not bake cookies directly on the pasty sheets. Cookies and everything else bakes wonderful in the smaller ovens. I use the gas oven for roasting meats. Turkey (18 lbs) fit and roast beautifully. As for sliding items in and out of the ovens, that depends on the pan. If the ovens had the telescoping oven racks it would be easier, but the range has so many other great qualities that I do not mind not having telescoping racks. We all have different cooking styles, I would suggest you contact Art Culinaire. The company has excellent customer support. They are the most wonderful group to work with. They can put you in contact with a range owner, so that you can experience the range first hand. Which for me was great. Seeing the range in a kitchen, experiencing how to use it first hand, really help me make my decision to purchase. Good luck....See Moremtnrdredux_gw
