Where to look/find Waverly Villa Discontinued Fabric? PICS

Long Post but some background so you'll know how I ended up in this situation.

So I fell in love with a fabric about five years ago B.P. (Before Parents) and I bought five yards.

For me it was really a splurge but those of you who have read my posts over the last few years know how I'm obsessed with the colors of Rust/TerraCotta, Old/Antique Gold and Deep Greens.

This Villa fabric had every color I love and also, the deep beige background was matching a lot of the deep beige I had in my home.

The Blue in the fabric is an exact match to the Blue pieces of pottery I have in the kitchen.

The fabric has a 'worn' look to it, almost like a crackle or like someone washed the fabric too often or took sand paper to it.

The fabric couldn't be more perfect if it was custom made for me.

We were right in the middle of working on the kitchen, doing a mini-budget reno when my parents moved in and sewing curtains for all the rooms in my home got put on the back burner, as did finishing the kitchen budget reno.

So wouldn't ya know it......

During the last couple years instead of finishing the mini-budget kitchen reno, we enlarged two windows in our kitchen (Mom and Dad like sitting in the little tiny kitchen eat-in area and looking out the window while eating breakfast) and now that I need more fabric for the larger windows, I can't find any!

I found Iron with Wood Accent chairs for my dining room table and once I got the Sunbrella fabric on the cushions and the iron painted from dusty charcoal to almost an ORB, I just KNEW the Waverly fabric would look perfect with the dining room since you can see the kitchen window from the dining room.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who this has happened to, right? Please tell me you've done the same thing?

Mr. Amity asked last night "Why didn't you order enough fabric?" No matter how I tried to explain that the windows are now much bigger, he just doesn't get it.

His idea is to make a valance over each window and be done with it.

Um....no.

I have had my heart set on simple panels on ring clips so I can slide the panels closed when the blazing sun beats into the kitchen in the afternoon.

I had even bought the Rain No Stain off-white liner way back when I bought my fabric.

I was able to find more liner but I've been looking for a week and can't find any place online or in my part of the state that has the Waverly Villa pattern.

Does anyone know of a source for discontinued Waverly fabric?

I just need two yards....it would be enough so that my kitchen windows wouldn't be wearing high-waters.

Please disregard the hole in the wall/tub exploded on the other side of that wall and did a bunch of damage. Extension cords running around the room/baseboards removed and just set in place. We are working on it...just working on it very slowly. *grin*

Absolutely charming fabric.
I haven't tried this, but someone on Gardenweb recommended emailing the link below and inquiring about discontinued Waverly fabrics:

Try a google on the info you have. Or one for discontinued waverly fabric. There are a number of sites which offer the service by entering your info for replacement fabrics. I think they actually go find it for you, but with the information you have it could be something easily done on your own. Your fabric pic doesn't show the print/fabric number. I did a search on Waverly Villa and none of the prints are like yours, but are called Villa.

You could ask Calico Corners who makes it, or if you're not comfortable with that see if they have a sample you could buy? Whenever I get samples from them they write the name on a white sticker and place it on the sample. Try this place, it's an "outlet". I don't think they have had anything delivered to them in quite some time, so you never know....( the stuff all looks like really old Waverly fabric) http://www.pafabric.com/ I was very disappointed when I went to the PA Fabric Outlet, since I used to live so close to the Schumacher outlet in DE. Thank you Patty and Polly for your help. I will do as you suggested. I remember I had a wallpaper border that went along with the valance. The number for that border I think is 572430, but I can't find it in any of the wallpaper books. I am sure that was discontinued as well. It had a picket fence on it with a garden. I put that on the bottom of my wall in the bathroom. Very pretty and colorful. But thanks again.

mitchdesj, it's funny you say English style, because that is something I would really like to achieve. I think I've watched too many episodes of "Relocation, Relocation". Like Jenny says it is very RL. Oceanna, the baseboards are actually hot water radiators. They give great heat and look kind of cool to boot. They are brass under the paint and DH keeps hinting he might eventually strip them. The wall colour has been great, but we've had it for almost 10 yrs now so we are ready for a change - back to neutral. sujafr, I am really wrestling with that whole idea. I know I will love either of those florals for a few yrs but a neutral would be so much more practical. The dark floral is so distinct, it will really dictate how I can decorate. But then again, it is a style of chair that would lend itself to slipcovering down the line. Rosewind, I really appreciate your comments on the big florals always being in style. It pushes me a little closer to choosing something more dramatic. Funny you should say that about the stripe. It is the stripe that is recommended to go with that floral, but I didn't like it much either. I preferred a much different one with wider stripes and a brighter green. I just ran across a Mario B. quote about how to achieve the English look - something about getting the perfect mix of fabric and antiques and then locking 2 poodles in the room for a weekend. Thanks totallyblessed. I am really surprised so many like that print. I showed it to my DH (who actually has pretty good taste) and he absolutely hated it. But like a good husband, he has come around having seen how much I like it.

What about using a SOLID color fabric to pull one of the colors from your patterned fabric??? This could be very interesting -- especially if you put the solid color fabric at both ends and in the middle of the treatment. Just a suggestion, but I see it working very well. Dee

It might be worth a try looking on ebay. I found a couple of yard of Waverly Villa Carlotta Cabernet on ebay long after it had been discontinued. Check their listings and if it's not there you could try posting in the "wanted" section.

Does the edge have a number? I have found fabric in the past through the sku #. Any other information on the fabric that would help us?

I sent all the information that is on the edge of the fabric to the addy you remembered (amazing! lol).
Since that was so easy, I started searching for other companies that do the searching for you.
I found three more and sent emails off to them also.
Now I'll be checking my email 20 times in the next few days hoping for a positive response. Thank you!
And thank you too for saying the fabric is 'charming'. I had been looking for the right word to explain it to my sis and couldn't come up with one. Now I have it...Charming. Thank you!

While searching I've found the same as you.....I find Waverly Villa but it's nowhere near the pattern I have.
Other than colored circles representing the colors in the pattern, there is no other info on the fabric edge.
I think I'll unfold the fabric all the way later today and see if I'm missing some information along the other edge.

I had been searching for 'Waverly Discontinued Fabric' on Google, Ask.com, About.com, Yahoo.com, you name it.
Last last night/early this morning I removed the 'Waverly' and I've found several more sites where I can email and request a search for their patterns.
But you're right, without a number, they are probably going to come up with the same 'Villa' patterns as we did.

Reading your post made me do one of those *duh, I should've had a V-8* slaps to my forehead!
I'll wait one week for any/all replies from those websites where I asked them to help with my search for this fabric.
If I don't get any positives, that's what I'll do!
Maybe a band of solid along each long edge, or maybe a solid band at the top, about 10" worth from the curtain rod.

Ya know, I have been unfolding and folding this fabric so many times and each time all I did was look along that edge with the Villa name and colored dots, never thinking to look along the other edge (Duh Me).
When it gets light out (haven't been to bed yet-using the quiet, uninterrupted time to work on the wood slats of my new-to-me chairs), I'll open the fabric up (again! lol) and look along the other edge.
If I find anything at all, I'll come back here with a pic.

Off topic, but Amity, you are so great about responding to all of your posters. You must be a great gal, takes time and effort to do this and shows appreciation. There are many times I wonder if resonses are even read, regardless if of help or not. No question on your part.

Dee's Idea is perfect. I hadn't thought of that either and need to remind myself should the same problem come up.

Yup, had it happen to me. If you don't find it on the sources listed above, check out Etsy, I think fabric is under supplies. You'll be surprised what shows up there when people decide to de-stash. I know Waverly's collection is HUGE, but try looking under just that to see what comes up. Try checking back often.

Remember that the new fabric will likely be a different color than the fabric you have currently. Different dye lot, time, etc.

I agree with Dee that using a solid is the way to go. Much easier to find, tho the blue might still be a challenge. Perhaps pull out the rust or green, and look for a washed linen or homespun type fabric that will pick up that aged look.

Also saw this. Not sure if the greens will work, you would have to order a sample, but I think the pattern in this matches the outline around all the color 'tiles' that make up your Waverly fabric. Might be worth checking, it also comes in a beige that might work, but I think the green actually picks up the design better.

I would be inclined to band all the way around the panel in the solid, and let the print be the majority of the panel. That way the banding looks intentional.
