how to hang a wreath using ribbon?
Comments (10)Over the door wreath hangers don't work on my doors either. One way I've seen it done with ribbon you you take a long length of ribbon and you loop it under the wreath and through the center hole, bring the ends to meet. Make sure the good side of the ribbon faces out. Then you use tacks to attach the ribbon to the top of the door after cutting it to the length you want (use at least 2 tacks). If you don't want the "inside" of the ribbon to show, double the ribbon so the two bad sides face each other, so both sides are now "good". You could use some spray adhesive to hold then together, but I don't think it's necessary. This year I got a suction cup at Lowes and used that. It's holding so far....See MoreHow do you hang a mirror so it tilts?
Comments (13)If you don't mind damaging your wall, you need to get mirror mastic and glue it up where you want it. Mirror mastic won't remove the silvering on the back of a mirror. Even at that, given the weight and size of the mirror, I'd want to hang it with mirror clips or frame it so it's well supported. Being on the wall like that, and that large, I don't think you want it to tilt as it could be distorting. Flat on the wall is best....at least that's how they're mounted in the room where I have barre class....See MoreDumb question- How to hang lighted wreath on door?
Comments (4)Here's what I've always done... I hang my garland and my wreath. Hopefully, your outlet is at the doorknob part of the door but, if it isn't this still works, you'll just need more lights. Thread the lights through the garland so they end at the hinge side of the door. Then, bring the lights up to the level of the wreath. Thread the lights through the wreath. The end of the lights (whether you use 1 string or 2) should end on the wreath. The only connection between the wreath and the garland is at the hinge side of the door and will not be affected by opening and closing. If you're not putting a garland around door, then just start and string your lights up to the wreath on the hinge side of the door, wrap the lights around the wreath and end them there. Hopefully, your outlet is on the hinge side of the door. If it isn't, just run the lights or an outdoor extension cord so that the lights start at the hinge side of the door....See MoreCan I hang a wreath here?
Comments (3)Do you mean to hang on the diagonal wood below the upper windows and above the front door. If so, no screws are going to show from that far away; I'd use gold color instead of silver, as it will blend better. If that's where you intend to hang it, I don't think I'd trust command or magnetic hooks; if they fail, someone could be injured by the falling wreath. I'd cut out a mock up the size of the real wreath from paper or cardboard and play with placement before drilling holes for screws....See Morenanny2a
