I have BA also but don't think any of the Travertines look good with it, sorry.
My old backsplash was brick, and terrible to keep looking clean. The whole point of a BS is to protect your walls and should be something that cleans easily.

Thanks much for your advice. I've been concerned that the ivory travertine would still be too yellow. Samples look OK in the evening with our U/C lighting, but not so good in the daylight.

I tried to upload a picture of our kitchen, but wasn't successful. Unfortunately, though I like the sample you suggested, it's a bit too modern for our style. Maybe I can find something in a porcelain tile that will look more like stone, but be a closer color match than the travertine and easier to maintain. Think I'll slow down this process and keep looking. What do you have as a backsplash now?

My current backsplash is still just paint, 1.5 yr after remodel LOL.

Our project morphed into a whole house remodel. Working on bathrooms now. So I'm planning on doing my backsplash when we tile the bathrooms.
I haven't picked mine but anticipate doing a cream color 4" or 6" square set on the diagonal in a harlequin style. My cabinets are cream.

Still don't have pictures to upload (soon, I hope), but we have settled on a porcelain tile that has a stone look--Edimax - Materia Forte in Basaltica. It's got grey tones, which look better with our granite than brown tones. We plan to use 4 x 4 tiles and do random accents of oil rubbed bronze 4 x 4 tiles, which will match our cabinet pulls and bring out the copper in the granite. This satisfies my DH, who wanted a more "natural" look than ceramic tile, but will also be very maintenance friendly.

I really appreciate your feedback on the travertine. I was ready to give in and use it, but your comments about the true purpose of a backsplash really gave me pause, and a better compromise was reached. Thanks again. I hope to figure out and post preliminary pictures sometime next week, although the backsplash and finish electrical is not done.

Here's a few pictures of my kitchen with BA And no backsplash yet. These were taken when kitchen was about 97% done. Valance has been replaced with a roman shade now. I need to take some current pics.

Travertine usually has too prominent pink undertones to be used with BA, which has green undertones. The results of using opposites on the color wheel is to make the travertine look like Pepto against a mint green counter.
