what color backsplash with bianco antico?

anyone who has bianco antico counters, what color/type of backsplash did you get? obviously don't want anything busy but i'm having trouble finding the "right" tile.

ok...rephrasing...anyone except beekeeperswife. but your backsplash is so beautiful. what color are your cabs? mine are dove white. not sure a white white tile would go?

KA - How did your trip to the granite yard go? Did you find your slab? I agree that Delicatus and BA are cousins, if not siblings. Love the light color and the sparkles in both. Bee - I could look at pics of your kitchen and new backsplash all day long and never be bored. I do like the stingray a lot and was wondering if there might be a color that would look good with BA, as you and DonnaKay both went white and redroze is pretty close to white with her Ann Sacks tile. I need to get a variety of samples, but some of my early ideas will clearly not go with the BA (which I totally love by the way -- it looks fabulous with the cherry. It's far and away the home-run feature so far). Anyway, I'll try to get a sample of the stingray. My paint is silver sage and I think it would go with that too.

It's beautiful!!!! Check out this tile, it was actually one of our favorites until I decided to go the white route. Mandala Tile, Sinu Collection, Color: Stingray. You will not believe how well this works with this granite because it is not a flat color. Seriously, go find it and take a sample of the granite with you, or bring home a piece. You cannot match the color flexibIlity of choosing a manmade bacjsplash (ex. Ceramic) over the inflexibility of natural stone (marble). Even if you see a sample of the thassos, the lots vary considerably. I went with a handmade ceramic with grey undertones which looks more interesting and varied than regular ceramic, but goes with my BA really well. I agree that the pencil mosaic tile would be too much with the granite. A simpler option as suggested many times in the thread is the way to go. I have also heard that pencil tile was kind of on its way "out". I get what you mean about subway tile. However, I found this image on Pinterest and it really spoke to me. Still subway tile but with a creative twist. Laying the first row vertically where the tile meets the granite and horizontal up to the cabinets takes away some of the boring and makes it more interesting. I think it would compliment your granite and cabinets nicely.

Mine are Cloud White. (oil based so they have become a little creamier). The photo really makes them look WHITE, but they are more of an ivory.

We just used white subway tile from Home Depot. My cabinets are super white. It all blends together and looks great.

Our house is 80 years old, and we reproduced/replaced the wonderful old cabinets. So...we didn't want one of the more gorgeous or colorful backsplashes. I love how they look, but subway tile was right for our old house.

I looooooove Beekeeperswife's tile!

Another salivating member here. Your tiles are my absolute favorite in all of gardenweb. I found something similar on a blog. I contacted her several times to see where she bought them. Let's say... many, many times rather than several. She never responded. I'm guessing that she didn't want people to copy her or something. I kept doing searches for morrocan tiles and got actual moroccan blue tiles and such every time. Thank god for this site. Or, I would never have seen them again. Do you happen to know how much they were per tile? I'm a good year away from doing a backsplash. I'm hoping they will still have them then! :) If not, I may have to buy and store.

I'll answer for beekeepers since I researched this tile myself and am planning on using it. The tile is called Beveled Arabesque from Mission Stone Tile (www.missionstonetile.com), and the price was about $21/sq ft. (8 pieces per sq ft.) They also have a 1"x6" bullnose for $14/each. They come in white and ivory. Mark was my contact at Mission. They are beautiful!
