I *love* your tub!! I'm a lover of black also, and have used it as a main color in my new home, every room has something black.

In my last home, I had the same tile in my laundry room and painted the walls lime green and the trim black~what a great contrast it was to the black/white floor! I had lots of compliments, and I know it helped with selling.

I see you have other black accents, as well as off-white, and IMO, enough black already. Again, IMO, black walls would be overkill. I used a large watering can filled with red Geraniums as the only 'color' accent for the room. You might want to do something similar. ;o)

Or how about some lovely reproduction wallpaper (black&white) perhaps a tiole? Or dark gray paint with chrome fixtures? Or how about white, as much as I hate to paint it that color.
My sink is one of those big old white cast iron vintage ones. My house was built in 1895 but I like to mix antiques with new things as well.

Since the outside of your tub is black, I don't think you will get the same effect as you had with the white walls. Love that pic!

Patty cakes I think your right about black overkill. But, you got me thinking. What do you think about green as in spinach? Gosh Patty don't you think that would look smashing? Who is that famous interior decorator on here who painted his room green spinach? He was featured in Oprah magazine.

Oh, newdawn, I love your bathroom! It has so much character, so much charm! Not crazy about the black-painted wall idea, & gray could become depressing after a while, but a cream & black toile wallpaper sounds adorable! What you currently have looks great imo! A black & cream window treatment would be a nice accent with the existing wall color.

You have such a great space to work with. Love everything you've done with it!

Newdawn, glad to be of help. I don't think my decorating juices ever stop flowing!! Since I read decorating books/magazines in bed just about every night, it's constantly on my mind, so ideas are probably spinning all night! LOL

You're talking about Magnaverde~what a talented guy!! Isn't his tiny place a work of art? And yes, the green was quite dark, but didn't make the room look like it was teeny-tiny. Guess that dis-proves *that* theory, heh? I like large furniture in small rooms too. Ya just gotta do what ya love and not think too much about it!;o)

Love your new floor! One of my favorite color combos is black, white and green .. I think green would look great!

Although, I have decided to go with a bright mustard rather than a dark green. I have even thought about that color Olive Tree by Ralph Lauren. I have to make my mind up by tonight the painters will be by tomorrow to get the colors and decide how many gallons.

That dark green would still look like black and it would probably be too dark. Thank you Patty Cakes again.

Now I am thinking the dark green would blend too much with the black. I have decided to go with one of these two colors. Please pick one or give me another idea. The painters are going to be here very early tomorrow morning....Jane

I see now that you are not using black. I am using the laptop and by the time I signed in to Photobucket and here, I thought what the heck. So I am posting a picture of my bathroom when it was black. To tell the truth, I miss it. Went from black to light mauve and now I have gone to dark gray with a hint of green. But revisting the picture reminds me of how much I loved the black.

I know someone with a b&w bathroom and she painted the walls BM Dill Pickle -- it looks really cool. I think a pink like BM Odessa Pink would also look really nice with the b&w. I'm not loving the mustard idea -- between the two colors you posted above, I would definitely pick the green.

Too funny, someone just told me today I should paint my living room black. Black is hot. And cool.

But, I too think you need lots of white to contrast.. and your pretty tub, floor, mirror and chair may get lost....

I almost did a pretty black wallpaper in my bathroom, but the expense was too great for me..

Your bathroom will be beautiful.

I have decided to go with the olive green. I think ya'll are right about the mustard color. Sue that dill pickel sounds wonderful. I may have to look at that color on the internet.

I agree, the green is the way to go with the two colors you posted above - it'll look smashing with the black and white. Of course, I'm a bit biased ;-)

Jane, i'm standing my ground with the green. The mustard just doesn't grab me like the green does, but i've never had a gold room. Seems there are many shades of green that look great with black~DLM2000, I LOVE your powderoom!

That VERY dark green lots terrific. Are the walls pure white or have a slight green/gray tint?

I don't know if you can tell but the ceiling is green as well as the dining room. Love black, white and green together.

I think that olive green would look fanatastic! I also like really like the BM Dill Pickle color suggested above. Someone here has a room painted that color and I remember loving it .. I'll do a little searching around and see if I can find the picture for you. :)
