Comments (6)Hi Sue15c, I am a tiny bit confused. Do you want, Pictures of cherry with tile? Or... Pictures of cherry with wood floors? Since I think you already saw pictures of Cherry with wood. How about I post some cherry with tile floors and if you need more I can add them for you. Did you want dark or light or medium stained Cherry? Oh and to answer your question, how do I do this? I think it is a love for kitchens and one of those weird visual memories. As for which kind of granite to use for your space? I am finding I really like light granite lately. NOt sure why but the light granite with cherry just looks stunning to me. ~boxer Daniel MacKey Contrstuction California Zigler Construction St. Louis Magazine Golden Valley granite Wine Writer Magazine Kitchen 60 MLS Image Reno Lighting Honed Ubatuba granite from 4 stone granite company Wenham Kitchen Designs Yellow river granite island fruit wood The Sexy Kitchen...See MoreWood floor and wood cabinet - any guidelines to help???
Comments (6)A great resource for image inspiration in houzz.com Try the search string "wood floor kitchen cabinet" and you'll get some ideas. We have white oak rift cut veneer cabinets and red oak flooring, and went with a clear valspar finish on the cabinets and a rubbed oil finish on the floors (Loba). I tried different oil color blends to get something very close to what I found as my "inspiration pic" from houzz: https://www.houzz.com/photos/ellen-grasso-inc-contemporary-kitchen-dallas-phvw-vp~646336-Grasso-Inc-contemporary-kitchen-dallas Architect and interior design friend both encouraged us to have a color contrast between the cabinets and the floors. Interior designer would have liked us to go dark but since the kitchen is in the middle of the house (living on one side, family on the other) we were reluctant to go dark. Ended up using a blend of white and transparent oil to get a look similar to the Ellen Grasso kitchen above. Good luck!...See MorePLEASE Post Pics Of Cherry Cabinets and Wood Floors
Comments (8)You can see the difference when you are in the room, but they don't compete with each other. Honestly, I like the multi-colored slate with the cherry better, but we wanted to use a rich looking hardwood throughout the house and ended up settling on the maple. We stained the clear pine T&G ceiling and PSL beams to match the floor. Here is a close up of the floor and cabinets: And, here is the floor, cabinets and ceiling (please forgive the washed out look, we've got a lot of windows and I took it with my phone):...See MoreStone backsplash-am I crazy?
Comments (6)I hope you're not crazy because I'm thinking of the same thing! Daltile has a split faced stone tile that looks really good. My SIL has had it installed for three years and it still looks great. She has a very busy household so I'd say it holds up well. I'm thinking of using real limestone veneer as my backsplash. This would match the exterior and some columns and fireplace inside as well....See Morejgs7691
