Purchase from Luxury Home Outlet in NY?

I am looking for a Blanco Silgranit sink and searching online brought me to a website called Luxury Home Outlet in New York state. Has anyone purchased anything from them? Any knowledge of good or bad experiences from others? I'm just starting to look for the 440144 model in anthracite. It will be my prep sink and they certainly seem to have the best price I have seen so far, but that doesn't always mean it is the best deal. Thanks for any info you can provide.

Foundation and raising are two different things. But if you want to raise it four feet above grade, you'll have to go at least four feet into the ground--maybe a lot more with widespread footings or pipe pilings since it's sand everywhere. I'm sorry I can't give local costs, only that it's likely to be prohibitively expensive for a lower end property. (My mother and grandmother were both from Long Beach and I was raised my first five years there in the 1940s. I've been back many times since. But I haven't built there, just tempted by sentiment.) If you're set on doing it, check with a local architect, designer or engineer before putting in an offer.

Sheilaaus, Fabricland is still there on Route 22, but their prices are discounted about 20%, which is not the great buy I'm looking for. Chances are that if I don't find anything else, that's where I'll end up purchasing. Mill End Shop used to be on Route 18 - great store, but has long since closed. Fewer and fewer people sew at home any more, and their business fell off until they couldn't stay open. Kateskouros, the seats on my chars are fully upholstered, and so need a lot of fabric. Once I select something, depending on the repeat, I may need only 1 3/4 yards per chair. I've already checked with a couple of different upholsterers who said the same thing. And they aren't the ones selling me the fabric, so they're not trying to get me to buy more than I need. I look forward to seeing Fabric Row in Philadelphia. I've also got a few leads to places in NYC.

Skrepka, your post is a little confusing to me because you say "can I make my offer with 2%" and then you say, Im not prepared to shell out $50,000 before inspections etc. If you are talking about a earnest money to "make an offer" (sometimes called a binder, and also not done in all areas of NY anymore)you can make the offer with as little as $1000. If you are talking about what you put down at the signing of the contract, this would be after you are relatively sure you are proceeding because it happens "after" you do the inspections. I dont know how different things are in LI, im a little north of that, but people still buy homes with no money down, or $10,000 at contract, etc. It doesnt always have to be a percentage. Its all negotiable. It is all what the seller is willing to accept and in a market that is sluggish, they are more open. Where it really makes a difference is when you are in a bidding war, then it might be viewed as strength in the buyers ability to close. (ridiculous, but true)

mobgirl, I mean this with the uttmost respect and sincerity, but are you crazy?!? Yours may be a smaller project, but I'm trying to understand why anyone would want to put themselves through this Stress, money and time..... intentionally. You need to understand that any time you move your house, it affects everything. The walls, siding, windows and doors, roofing, cabinets...everything! Here is $650,000 plus....and one year and half later. My advice, and I say this from personal experience, is to turn around and.....run as fast as you can...there's a reason why this house is priced low.....it's a money pit!

Just the other day I realized they charge a handling fee. On the Blanco Silgranit sink I am looking for the handling fee is $39.95 so that brings their price back up there with many of the other online retailers. Considering I don't know anyone that has purchased from them, I think I will pass on using them. I hate that they throw in a handling fee, which I didn't see mentioned anywhere until I added the item to my cart. Not such a fantastic deal after all.

Oh thank you for posting that! I went back and checked and the shaw sink was 616- amazing price right? Well then I checked the cart and saw a 120 dollar handling fee. I hate scammers.

Have you checked out Blue Bath for your sink? I ordered my Whitehaus Athinahaus Farm Sink from them. Reasonable price, great service. I called to ask if they would give me any more off the sink than on the website and they took another 10 percent off. Every little bit helps.

LHO?...Never again!...still waiting for sink, vanity and mirror/cabinet.

Mid July ordered sink, vanity, mirror, faucet...2 days later received email about faucet no longer available. Two weeks later no communication on order. Called...sink back ordered and should be delivered 8/21. 8/24 charge for entire order shows up on credit card. Called LHO on 8/24..."error in shipping you should expect it first week of September." Two boxes arrive 8/31 ...sink and vanity broken. Call LHO on 9/2 to discuss return. "I'll work on this and get back to you with a call or email by tomorrow."...no call or email. Call LHO on 9/7..."Working on your order and return info...we are busy and there is the upcoming holiday...will get back to you next week" and so it goes...

Do not do business with these people! They never delivered my item and then claimed I refused it charging me a restocking fee of $86.36 plus $22.74 in shipping on a $246.73 item! I will have to fight them through my credit card.

I just stumbled upon them looking for faucets. They do not post specs, and don't even say what finish it comes in, so I tried to cross reference the Moen Manufacture number they show to other sellers sights, and it's very odd, nowhere can you find that number and same faucet. They don't match up. Seems a bit shifty. Anyhow try Dealyard for odd home plumbing items. Just ordered a Showhouse Moen for over 70% off, great product, quick delivery.

They are out right crooks!!!! I placed an order and paid with paypal. Then i got an email from luxury home outlet saying they were out of stock and that my order was canceled. They said they would issue a paypal refund within 48 hours. Two weeks later, i'm still waiting for my money back, sent them emails and had to file a paypal dispute. Do not shop there. They are a bunch of thieves and crooks that will try to steal your money.
