Are these deposit terms reasonable?

I am new to kitchen remodeling - okay, remodeling of any kind. I am about to put down a deposit on our chosen tile (purchase and installation), which is the entire cost of the tiles up front (special order) with the balance (installation) due after work is complete and customer is satisfied.

Today, I met with our cabinets and counter tops guy who went over their terms for payment. They expect 70% of the cost of the cabinets + 100% of installation + 50% of granite up front, with the balance due after work is completed.

Essentially, in both cases, this works out to a little less than 2/3 up front, 1/3 after completion.

I've been browsing this forum for quite a while (though just recently signed up) as we have planned our kitchen remodel, so I turn to you - the pros - to tell me if these terms are customary and reasonable. It seems like they are - I just need a little reassurance before I start writing the big checks.

Thank you in advance!
