I'm thinking of getting one of these, so I am curious to get answers also. When I was looking at the sinks on line, the 30" said it needed a 30" sink base.

I have had the Kraus 30" installed in a 33" cabinet base for a few months now. Once I did have a pan soaking and the sink started filling up while I was washing. Now I know it will happen, not a big deal to shift the dishes around. I do have to spray the sink out to wash down scraps, but not so much that it's bothersome. I have a pull down faucet so it's not a big deal to me. I have to say, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the sink. It is plenty big to soak anything I want so I can work around the other issues!

I have the 36" Kraus double bowl sink, but the plumbing won't be hooked up until this weekend. Will report back.

kngwd... According to the specs online it says a 30" needs a 30" cabinet. Would a 30" cabinet work? Did you just opt for a 33" cabinet?

After hearing about Kraus sinks through GW, I was hoping to hear more from other's experiences. I'm hoping I just don't have to wing this decision w/o very much feedback.

I have the 36" single bowl Kraus farmhouse, installed for maybe a month now. So far it has been WoNDERFUL!! We just had our granite installed this weekend and I was wondering if that would shift the way it drained but that has not been the case. If I plug the sink and fill it with water, all the water drains out, it does have slightly sloped bottom interior to make it drain. I do use the pull out sprayer to chase around crumbs that find their way into corners, but it drains nicely.
I absolutely love my sink. I really wanted a white sink, but with my family, I knew it would get chipped, so I opted for the strength of stainless and the fact my husband preferred the stainless. Now that I have it, I do not feel it was second best, I really love it. 5 stars from me!

Oh, I realized I did not answer your questions! Sorry.
1) Do I have to rinse and rinse? No, a few sprays and I"m okay.
2)I really have not encountered any problems with soaking pans as my stove is not installed yet so I'm only microwave cooking at the moment. I did buy a plastic sink tub for one side at Walmart to hand wash a few things, but found it was just as easy to plug the whole sink and hand wash what couldn't go in dishwasher. I love the size of it.
3) Cabinet is about 36" but my cabinets were custom and cabinet maker had me order sink and have it delivered to his shop. He built the cabinet just for my sink.

Sounds like you've used it and it's working out wonderful. Of all the things I daydream about regarding the kitchen, it's standing in front of my "new" oversized window doing the dishes in my new farmhouse sink. You have helped keep the dream alive.

I also went custom and the cabinet maker could have made the 33" sink (that I bought originaly and returned) fit into the 33" base, but my sink is right against my SS dishwasher, and i was afraid it would be too much SS together. So I opted for the 30" (thank goodness for free return shipping!!), so I have some cabinet breaking up the SS. See the wood surrounding the sink in the pic? That's what i wanted to make sure I had!

Kngwd, thanks for pointing the SS fronts being so close together. We've talked about getting a integrated cover for the DW but we'll see. This leaves us with a nice option too.

I have a question about keeping the front clean. I was thinking that since there will probably be water splashing down on the front of the sink... how hard is this to keep clean, i.e., spot/drip free? Or will it be a constant source of aggravation?

kngwd - Can you post a photo with the dishwasher in place? Are you happy with the sink? I agree I think I might like the wood look in between the sink and dishwasher. What about water spots? Thanks in advance!

I'm putting one in for my nephew next week. I have the sink, it is very well made and is very spacious. It is deep we may have to drop the drain line that comes out of the wall to make for proper clearance of the trap.

I don't have a shot from front on - I will try to take one tonight and get it on here. I do have some splashing, I've kind of learned how to adjust the spray to keep it in the sink! I usually keep a towel on the front away, so I just give it a quick wipe when I am done.

I can't speak to specifics, but DH will say installation was a bit of a bear!! We finally broke down & brought someone in to finish the installation - it's super deep and really hard to get everything hooked up behind there w/o the proper tools.
