Calling all 27 inch sink base cabinet owners please . .

I hope to be nearing the final stretch and am having difficulty finding a white single bowl undermount sink to fit my 27 inch sink base.

I was set on the Blanco silgranite until I was told by Blanco and two vendors that the faucet has to be to the side. I have a bridge faucet and don't want this. I did find a post of someone with what I believe to be that sink and her faucet is centered behind the sink and she said it was a tight fit but I don't know that I have that room. I considered pulling the sink base away from the wall but it has straight sides and not a good option.

I purchased from HD their Silgranite knockoff, 25x22x10 or 9, I forget, but returned it because it did not fit into the cab base without cutting the cab. I then come to find out that the sink is fiberglass with a thin granite coating sprayed on . . ew, fiberglass around my food and drink? I don't mind my pets but I have to draw the line somewhere.

I was going to splurge on the Kohler Riverby 25x22 undermount white sink with cool accessories but am getting conflicting info. All web sites, except the Kohler web site, state it requires a 27 in min base cab but no one can confirm if that is the interior or exterior measurement. I contacted Kohler via email because their web site states that it requires a 36 inch cab but I believe that to be a typo because that is the cab size for the 33 inch sink. Kohler replied that this 25x22 sink requires a 33 in base cab. Makes no sense. This sink has to be ordered so I am paying for shipping and if I can't make it work, I will be paying for return shipping and a restocking fee which I can't do.

Any suggestions? It's a small kitchen and this is the only sink. I will cut into the cab to get the largest sink possible and really didn't want SS. I definitely want the drain to the back so I can get the trash can under the sink. I have a shiny chrome bridge faucet with separate sprayer just waiting to go. As far as countertop material, I hope to be going for a dark granite; however, due to a ton of vet bills, we are going to try the DIY Ikea wood countertop approach and live with that for a while (if not a piece of plywood).

Have you checked out the Blanco Vision single bowl. Its a fairly new product and only comes in 4 colors but maybe one would work for you. It's says required outside cabinet: 27 inches. And it shows it with a faucet mounted behind it, not to the side.

I have the Vision in Biscotti. It's more than big enough for us. The only thing I haven't been able to fit in is a large pizza pan. The chamford edge looks really sharp too.

After owning a capital Precision 60" gas self cleaning range since 2008, I would say, AVOID CAPITAL. I was the biggest capital fan because I thought they had the best and most innovative product. Upon delivery and installation, we were burning everything we put inside one of the ovens. We went back and forth with Capital for months, they sent out repair people who swore there was nothing wrong with the oven. We were even blamed for not letting the oven warm up for enough time before we put our food in. We had to threaten them with legal action before they finally had a proper technician fix our range. As the years progressed, our issues continued. The rotiserrie went out. They sent the parts and I fixed the motor myself. Our grill always heats only the left side. I had a gas leak inside the range and Capital did not respond to my requests for help. I had to get Trevor from Eurostoves involved and then they responded. The absolute worst is they offered to fix my grill and wok burner (useless) for free as long as I paid for shipping both ways. A few days later, they sent an email and said, they were wrong when they told me they would fix it for free and would charge me for the repairs. I AM DONE WITH CAPITAL.

I have had an Orca sink for 6 years. The faucet is placed similarly to hsw's. The soap dispenser is on the right side. We also have a Franke faucet. Franke backs their products 100%. Great customer service. They sent us a new faucet head without question when the piece that switches from spray to full broke. No questions asked. I have the full and 1/2 grids. They did not have non coated when we bought. I do have the cutting board which comes in very handy. We did not do a bump out but we had to have part of the cabinet cut to fit it since it was being placed in a slightly smaller cabinet then recommended. My one must haves was to have the largest sink I could fit in my galley kitchen. Mission accomplished.

Buehl, the reason I went with drawers was remembering getting down on the floor to dig into the small dorm fridge I had in college and thinking about how much I enjoyed having to dig into base cabinets for something in the back where you can't easily see it or reach it -- the bases I couldn't wait to replace with drawers and don't miss at all. Ours are in the breakfast room -- between the kitchen and the family room as part of a hutch coffee/breakfast bar. Not a reason for the choice, but I also like that the drawers look more like furniture.

I was hoping for a deeper sink and this particular sink does not come in white. OTOH, I did spend some time on the phone with Kohler today. Apparently that was a typo on their web site which they will correct; however, while they did say this SHOULD fit in a 27 in sink base, no one would actually state whether that was the interior or exterior measurement and their disclaimer was you have to make sure you have enough room for the undermount. Eeek!

I am also looking to put the riverby 25” undermount in a 27” cabinet. kohler says 28” cabinet needed for undermount application. has anyone had luck undermounting this 25” sink in a 27” cabinet cabinet?

Kohler is wrong. They are trying to think ahead to allow room for plumber hands to tighten junk and leaking clips. A 27" sink undermounts into a 27" cabinet if the sink is strapped, not clipped or blocked, in place. Plenty of room under a sink for tightening. Hercules Universal Sink Harness or Sink Straps. You can believe Kohler or you can believe a guy who has done this thousands of times and has pictures to prove it. I put a 33" sink into a 27" cabinet last month.

Thank you Joseph. So it gets strapped. The sink is heavy. Is it going to need extra support which will eat up storage space under the cabinet.

No. The HUSH or the Sink Straps will holdit without eating up space.

So i read up a little on yhe hush… looks like it should work! what contractor instslls the sink abd hush? counter top installer?

The General Contractor coordinates between the top fabricator and the plumber as to who installs the HUSH. In some cases, you'd want the HUSH installed to the cabinet sides and the sink resting in the cabinet before the tops are installed.

If you don't have a GC, the GC is you.
