I don't know if it's new either, but in my opinion I don't know why you'd want to force yourself into having that area raised or sectioned off when you could just get the super single and section of or raise a section of the sink with an accessory of some sort, then if you don't like it or decide you don't use it, you can always remove it and still have the big single sink.

I have the super single and have been using it for about two weeks now and I absolutely love it. I keep a dish drainer in one side most of the time but if I have something big to wash I can just remove the drainer. With a split sink, there's no removing the split, so big items aren't possible.

I guess I just prefer the flexibility of the super single rather than a sink with fixed dividers in it, but that's just me.

I donÂt feel that IÂd be forcing myself into enjoying it. My current sink is only slightly smaller than the low area and everything fits but I get irritated at the little things that fall to the bottom. Perhaps the raised ledge or included drainer would solve that problem.

Did you actually look at the sink? ItÂs essentially the same size as the super single with one area thatÂs 2 inches less deep but there is no "divider" between the two.

No, I didn't actually look at the sink, just at the picture. Just offering my opinion. If you think you'd like it, then order it. Seems you've already decided what you really want.

backinthesaddle, did you decide to order the Blanco Cascade Sink? I've called all over AZ and can't find one to go look at. I hate ordering it sight unseen, but I'm with you...I really like the slightly raised area of the sink.

Has anybody bought or at least seen this sink in person yet?

We decided to get a temporary sink and counter until we put in all the cabinets at the end of this DIY project. So, I have not ordered yet but we are doing the plumbing according to the specs for that sink and planning to get it later.

Hopefully IÂll be able to see an installed one some time before then. I know there's a similar sink out there (Franke? Swanstone?) and I was hoping someone who's used that could compare.

Backinthesaddle, I ordered the sink from Home and Stone, but it's on back order until the later part of September. I called and emailed several other places and no one had it in stock. I finally found that my local Ferguson's had it on order from Blanco and it is due to arrive in their TX warehouse any day. I told them that I'd give them a deposit only once it arrived there, because according to Blanco there are none available unless someone has it in stock.

Just make sure that you order it in plenty of time. My granite is due to be installed in a week and I have no sink in my hands yet. Once I get it, I'll let you know what I think.

It sounds like something I might really like to use because I
don't want to put a drainer anywhere but I really want that
huge sink. I'd also love to hear from anyone who has used it or
seen it in person. I am in SoCal so I will make some calls to see
if I can find one to look at.

I just wanted to bump this and find out if anyone has gotten this sink or seen it in person? The sink I originally ordered (Kindred single bowl granite) is on backorder until FOREVER and I'm considering the Blanco Cascade.

Or, does anyone have the "Anthracite" color Blanco in another model? I'd love to see it installed in a kitchen!

Thank you for posting your pictures! I love it and am so excited for mine to arrive next week. My granite fabricators have never cut for this particular sink before so they have to take it with them.

I asked this question in the other thread also -- Does the raised side on the right drain well? Is it slanted so water drains off or does that notch provide enough for the water to drain?

The water drains off fine from that part of the sink. I use the spray attachment from my faucet to rinse and then the notch allows most of the water to drain out of there. I use my dish rag to swoop out any excess water that accumulated (which there is usually no excess). The nice thing is that because it is separated from the rest of the sink, water doesn't usually land there while I'm washing things. For example, last night I dumped out an entire gallon of expired milk. None of the milk landed in that part of the sink. I had some knives drying in the drainer basket that sits in that part (it came with the sink) and they stayed dry.

This looks like a great sink. I love that there's not a big, thick divider, just that little notched lip.

Question for can_not_decide: what size cabinet is that mounted in? Do you need a 36" for that?

Are you leaving the basket on the ledge most of the time? If it wasnÂt there, would little things like paring knives and sport bottle lids fall into the main sink?

Scootermom, IRRC the specs say the outside dimensions are 32" wide so it might fit in a notched 33" cabinet.

My granite fabricators told me that my Blanco Cascade would work in my 33"cabinet, but it is already modified for the sink that is currently there.

The previous owners/builder had cut the inside walls of the cabinet down about 10 inches to allow space for the current cast iron sink. My dishwasher is in the cabinet to the right and a pullout garbage can is in the cabinet on the left of the sink cabinet, so it doesn't really matter that those spots are cut out.

The cabinet is 36" with an interior measurement of 35".

Backinthesaddle, I keep the basket in the sink most of the time. It's really heavy duty. I'm amazed that I can wash a large heavy frying pan and let it drain in the basket without the basket tipping over from the weight of the pan. Also, if you choose to not have the basket in the sink I don't think small items would fall into the main part.

I was elated yesterday to wash my large griddle. The entire griddle fit in the sink. I previously had a 3/4, 1/4 set up. I am so much happier with this configuration!

I just happened to find this sink on the Blanco site, then discovered this thread. Looks like a great sink and I like the smaller raised area. I've always had a regular double sink and hadn't even thought about a single sink. But I read the other thread about single sinks and it suddenly dawned on me how great it would be to be able to soak my big pans inside the sink instead of filling them with hot soapy water and setting them on the counter (duh! "slapping head").

Would the basket work for draining a big pot of pasta? Also, I'm a little concerned about the depth of the sink (front to back). It looks like you have a little extra space behind the sink. We'll have an opening above the sink with a granite ledge on it. Would there be a problem fitting the faucet between the back of the sink and the wall in a standard 24" deep cabinet.
Also, can you share the name of your granite?

luvmyguys - I don't see why the basket wouldn't work for draining pasta. My sink is installed in a 24" deep cabinet and the counter measures 31" from front to back where the sink is.

My granite is called Giallo Vicenza, but according to the place I bought my granite, it was an unusual batch of it. The sample piece they gave me was actually Fortina which was very close to the actual color of the granite, but the actual pattern of the slab had larger specks like those found in the typical Giallo Vicenza. The typical Giallo Vicenza is lighter than the slabs I wound up with.

This looks wonderful. I think the other one that someone mentioned is Swanstone's Quad - I've seen that one in person, and it's spectacular. I'm waffling myself between that and a regular two seater ... decisions, decisions ...

the only thing with swanstone is they do not offer the grids that blanco does. The guy in the sink store told me that. He sold both.

It's gorgeous. Unfortunately, the one I ordered (delivered directly from Blanco) arrived with a huge crack. The replacement arrived today with a hairline crack. If they damage so easily in shipment I'm concerned that the granite installer will crack it during the undermount and install process. Switching to stainless steel, sadly.

Funnily, the word seems to be that these sinks are easy to crack in transit, and impossible once installed. Not sure how that works, actually, but I've heard it from several, seemingly unconnected sources (though this doesn't meant it couldn't still be the source ultimately).

Any new or long-term info from users out there? I'm waffling with the same decisions -- it looks terrific, but is hard to know whether it would really be nifty, that raised ledge, or fussy.

I'd love to hear your experience...
