How difficult would this be to live with ...

15 years ago

I've been planning my kitchen for years, and have posted about this issue before, so sorry if it looks familiar.

I have my plan down to a configuration I love, except for one wall, which looks like this:

{{!gwi}}

The only problem with this configuration is that I will need to reach around the fridge to the counter space beyond to set down pans out of the oven. I use the oven a lot, and have been trying to see how this will feel. It seems okay to me, if a bit inconvenient. The inconvenience seems worth it to me, though, because it allows me to have the oven stack I really want, and which will give my bad knees a break.

Do any of you have a setup anything like this, where you need to reach 3' or more to set down the pans? How does it work for you?

P.S. - I can't swap out the fridge and the oven stack without losing about 6" of space so the fridge will open. And there is no room anywhere else for the oven stack, given where the cooktop and sink need to go.
