Kenmore vs. GE Profile Refrigerator
Comments (5)We bought the 22 cu./ft French door/bottom freezer about two years ago. First unit came in damaged; second unit came in damaged. Ended up with a big discount from Sears and kept the second. . Pros: Very good at holding proper temps. Stainless is very easy to keep smudge free. Love adjustable shelves. Cons: Our model has no way to turn the "open" door alarm off -- beeps WAY too soon. Make sure the veggie and fruit bins are on rollers. Water dispenser way too slow....See MoreGE Profile vs GE Monogram Induction cooktop
Comments (4)We have the GE 30" Profile, with the ss frame. Purchased in summer 2008. At the time, the specs were exactly the same between the profile and the monogram, and the profile was a few hundred less (via the induction site). We did think the stainless/mirrored monogram looked really cool, but the black controls on it were funny looking, so decided to stick to all black. Got the framed version because we were worried about cracking an exposed glass corner without it. Performance is excellent. The large burder is quite large and very powerful. Overall, great control, great power and a good price. Cleaning up is easy and no noticeable scratches or other issues after 9 months. Only small quibbles--it does hum (not enough to bother us, but usually it is noticeable), more so with some cookware than others. Wish the larger burner were centered so as to provide better capture of smoke when stir-frying (we have it in a peninsula). Clearance requirements underneath are high--meant we used pullout shelves instead of more efficient drawers under it. On balance, happy and would recommend....See MoreGE Profile VS GE Monogram Advantium Ovens
Comments (4)Last year we built a new home and went with the Monogram. I wanted the handles, gas stove and the 240 Advantium. We are now currently building our 2nd new home, but I am preferring the Profile's handles this time.. and just don't feel the price difference is worth it, since I have been told that they really are identical, except for exterior features and price....See MoreJenn-Air Vs. Comments (3)That is so funny - we are making the same decision! I did find them both in a show room (which doesn't tell you how well it will actually work) and the GE felt a little more solid. The down side to the GE is the space between the door will show and will be either black or white - I didn't think stainless handles blend with this. If you are doing other appliances in black it's not as much of an issue. My other concern with the GE was the freezer door was very tall. So tall in fact that I had a hard time reaching into it without standing at the sides. If I've been told correctly though, Kitchen Aid just came out with a CD french door panel ready fridge KFCO22EV. I haven't seen it on line, but I did see it in a store in SS and really liked it. Good luck!...See More- 14 years ago
