Folding back bar stools? Elipiz?

Someone mentioned that Elipiz had these & to search on the name. Came up empty. If you're out there Elipiz, could you send a pix or 2, as well as where you got them, price? You know, all that good stuff!

Hi Leel! You're missing a pesky "zee" (or zed as we say in the great white north :-)

We do have the stools, that judydel also just got - I've put the Elizpiz's Kitchen

Okay - that was very weird - GW acting up AGAIN. In my original response I posted a link to both judydel's thread and my kitchen - I think the link above will take you to her thread, which has the most current info on where to purchase. Sorry about the funny looking response! I will try again to link my kitchen below.

I was just looking at your photo album again. Just beautiful! What a gorgeous transformation. I just love the vaulted ceiling (how high is it?) with all the windows! The lighting is so fabulous. And that Zanger backsplash! Bookcase Hutch and all the lovely details. One of my favorite kitchens!

EFC, OMG, just google counter stools and you will find enough sites online that you can browse from now till next Tuesday! You can even use the store's own search function to specify height, back, arm, look, materials..... During my last remodel I ordered a counter stool from Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA and footstools from Miami, FLA, USA on the same day. I had fun checking to see each day on the shipping company trackers where which item was, en-route. I believe Winnipeg won. It was like my own little parimutuel betting parlor.

I love British West Indies style, but the "contemporary" house is throwing me. It would be helpful to see your kitchen cabinetry and bar. Of the three stools you mention, only the Tommy Bahama has the tropical twist. What other pieces of furniture that you already have will be in the family room? My favorite web site for browsing this style of furniture is Carolina Rustica William Sheppee Saddler bar stool has a woven leather seat that gives a rattan like look. It comes with a back or backless. I like some of the Stanley furniture, Coastal Living pieces, but the stools I looked at are bigger than your requirements. Kincaid's Bistro stool is similiar to the frontgate one you show, but I am not sure of the price range. Often the British look is a redder wood tone, so I think more info on your colors and tones is important.

I have a peninsula and went with a single level flat counter - it's a 90 inch counter run and wanted to be able to have a large surface are for baking, buffets and overall counter space for siting, gathering in the kitchen. I also have three young kids, and felt that the bar height stools would just be too high off the ground for us to sit safely & comfortably. Either way, the angle wasn't going to hide my sink dishes but the new kitchen has motivated me to put dishes right in the dishwasher anyway, so that want really a factor in my decision. Also, I have lo;wer ceiling (New England Cape) and I wanted to maximize sight lines for the feeling of more open space - and the bar height would have broken that up too. Four years later, and no regrets on the counter height.

cpartist why would you want to run all the way to the garage to get a step stool Thank you, Claire. The door to the garage is right next to my kitchen so no running. And I live in FL so it's not like it's a problem with cold air. Heat yes. Cold no. There is a space right next to the steps that lead down for a hook on the wall for the step stool. It's really not an issue as I had thought it might be. cpartist does this tall cabinet actually exist in the kitchen where you are able to add a bar above cabinets and have the ladder tucked away when it’s not in use. Yes it does but as noted in the drawing that is a wall up against it. Plus there is no room. Also my kitchen is mostly finished. The cabinet peeking out on the left below is the cabinet you circled. The wall next to it juts out 24" to frame in the nook with the buffet. To the right of the buffet is the door to the garage.
