I googled Super White granite and it came up that it is actually a quartzite from Brazil...Is that what you have discovered? Anyways, it's very beautiful...in the pictures it looks grayish white. So, if your cabinets are a "cold" white, meaning not "beigy warm" than I think Super white would compliment them. If you have pictures of your cabinets that may help people with their responses.

I've been going to see slabs of super white and what's coming in is more of a gray/black instead of a white/gray.
The original is beautiful and I think it would have looked great with my STARK white cabinets. Still searching...

Don't give up on the super white. I looked at 5 different slabs before I found one that would work for us. It really varies from a med/dark gray to a swirly white & light gray. Eventually I started calling the fabricators and asking about their super white. If I got someone knowledgeable they would describe it and send a photo. Be very specific about what you want - I wanted it to have some white but nice contrast so the very gray and swirly white/light gray didn't work. The slab we found also has some areas that are almost peach (it is very light, just an accent tone in the background) that I loved with our red birch perimeter cabinets. The stone is called by many names - supreme white, white princess, white fantasy - but asking for white quartzite and sharing some of the names got me the stuff I wanted. Note - I still went to look at the slabs even if the photos were a little off - often they look lighter and whiter in person.

The last two are of the slab we purchased. Note that the 2nd photo was from the fabricator and it shows the slab darker than it is in person.

I have also included a link to my recent posting with all the photos of the counter installed. Again the photos are dark, but I am very happy. The paint color is BM Dove Wing, but we also considered BM white dove.

My fabricator (located in Woburn, MA) is only getting very dark slabs of SW, so I have to keep looking.

Camerong - I am in Boston too. Our slab was from one of the bigger distributors - Marble & Granite in Westwood - http://www.marbleandgranite.com/

But, our fabricator gave us a pretty hefty up charge for not using their stone (even after negotiation) so be careful. M&G has a list of partners who might do a better job with the pricing.

When I was looking in March, I found the white quartzite at M&G, Elemar, Gerrity, and MSI (in Braintree.)

I have had some issues with my fabricator in the same area, so feel free to email me so you can be better prepared than I was.

Sparklekitty, My fabricator is Stone Technologies in Woburn and MSI in Braintree is main distributor from what I'm told. I went to Boston Granite Exchange and they had 1 slab honed and two on hold.
Have you done scratch and stain testing on it? I'm also being told that quartzite is more like marble and scratches easily. When I dragged a piece of stoneware over a sample, it did leave a very light scratch.

I am embarrassed to say I didn't do any testing on the quartzite. We are staying in an apartment while doing an entire house renovation so I have not had the attention to detail I would have liked. But I figured all I have read and heard made it clear it was more durable than marble, which is what I would have loved but DH said no go, so I figured we were in a better place with the quartzite. If you search on quartzite in google, you will find others who have done testing with good results.

Note - you can polish the honed and vice versa so don't let that be a barrier to the slab. Ours came in polished which was beautiful but they honed it which I decided I liked even more in our kitchen. If you haven't read my posting on honed / polished quartzite saga check it out.

You might want to take a look at this recent thread with firsthouse's white + white kitchen. She has white cabinets with white princess granite and it looks great.

@summerdayz - i am dealing with a problem with our superwhite - newly installed granite or quartzite...the finish is already showing etching and spots on the finish. I also noticed it is very soft, so a slight cut that would have done nothing to my old granite (uba tuba) shows a mark instantly. I was under the impression that quartzite is "3rd most durable to a diamond" but I now being told it could be wearing like a marble. confused still...

@kellycal - I'm sorry to hear about the superwhite. Unfortunately even though I loved it and it was my favorite with my white cabinets, all my research showed that it etched and scratched easily. My kitchen is finally finished and in the end, I chose uba tuba and love it - it is indestructable. Hope you find a solution to the superwhite problems.
