Apron Front Sink... cabinet modification question
Comments (1)I can't see any answer being useful without knowing what sink you're using. You should have the sink base have a panel above the doors that will accomodate the sink and at least a couple of extra inches. The dimension of the doors will be determind accordingly....See MoreApron front/farm sink splash question
Comments (10)Way back in 1954 the first sink I ever washed dishes in was a farmhouse sink. I was 5 at the time and my mother "let" me do the washing up (I know now that this was a Tom Sawyer routine) after lunch as a consolation prize because my older brother and sister were going back to school and as a kindergarten student I only had a half day and couldn't go with them. Standing on a step stool and leaning against the apron front is the experience I'm going to try to replicate with our new farmhouse sink. Hard to describe but no other sink since then has had the comfort, dryness and aesthetics of that old sink. Every other sink I've ever worked at has left me soaked. Maybe someone who studies ergonomics can explain this....See MoreHelp with a sink base cabinet and apron sink
Comments (20)Problem solved! (For me anyway....might work for you too though.) I called Franke and they confirmed with their warehouse that the sinks are branded with their logo on the INSIDE of the bowl, on the right hand side of the sink. The photos that show the logo on the apron front are old and they have not been making them that way for a while. If you get it from homeclick.com, there is a 10% off Franke coupon through 7/18: FRANKE10 that makes it $810. That's the best deal I can find so I'm going to get it from them. Hope this works for you too!...See MoreQuestion re: Typhoon bordeaux copper apron front sink
Comments (2)Thank you so much! I think that's what we are worried about. Our kitchen already seems dark and we currently have white countertops and a white sink so I'm worried if we add darker countertops and a dark sink then everything will just blend together into a dark cave. I want the sink to pop so maybe brighter is the way to go! I don't love my white sink now but maybe an off-white will do the trick if anyone has any suggestions. Good idea about the curtain. We have to rip out the whole bottom cabinet anyway because it is water damaged but that might be easier than trying to rebuild doors and match the stain....See Morepluckymama
