Peacock Pavers-has anyone used them?
Comments (37)@mark1993, can i ask if your professional installer immediately sealed your pavers after install? also, what color did you install? i recently constructed a home and all of my outdoor patios/front porch are Rice White Peacocks. The initial design was going to match my modern construction beautifully except my Builder and his sub contractor did not seal the pavers for over 65 days. Now I am stuck with discolored and stained pavers that even if I clean with a more acidic cleaner (not recommended per Peacock), it actually eats through the paver turning it more of the concrete color, which is what the product is made of. I'm wondering had they been installed/sealed properly from the start, I wouldnt be fighting all of the issues with them I am now. Thank you in advance for your reply....See MoreHas anyone used vintage or antique tiles in their bathroom?
Comments (0)I love the look of vintage tiles and was thinking of using some as a wall trim in my bathroom. I was just wondering if anyone has used them, and if so whether you might post pictures. I have looked at many pictures of actual period baths which I love, but was hoping for some ideas of how people use them these days. Thanks!...See MoreHas anyone ever seen/used these tiles?
Comments (9)I just took a similar style tile out of my kitchen. Not the tile's fault -- it was the patching done as part of my kitchen reno that was poorly done and ate at me to the point that we decided to rip it out and start over while putting hardwoods in the rooms that didn't get new flooring before. We had crema marfil in our entry and powder room and the porcelain tile in the master bath ad laundry room as well as the kitchen, breakfast and family room. I always thought both looked good. I understand what you mean about the builder can say he's going to charge whatever he likes, but really, it's not like people are standing in line to have houses built these days. It doesn't mean you can't ask the builder why he feels he needs to charge more to have a tile laid in a straight line with offsetting joints instead of grid joints. It is not harder or more work. If it's that he has to communicate that to the tile setter -- offer to do it yourself and let him sleep in. I paid extra to have my tile done in a pinwheel in the kitchen and family rooms as well as on the diagonal in the master bath, but it wasn't that much and it was much more complicated to lay. It's been a while, but I think it was $1 to $1.50 a square foot for those patterns plus there was additional tile waste allowed. Your brick pattern shouldn't require more tile -- but maybe he's thinking it would? The trend these days is to have fewer flooring materials, so one in all those rooms would be fine....See Morebacksplash tile
Comments (6)Eam, I think beenzmail's talking about the 3x3s in the link. Hmm. I'm not sure the accent pieces make that backsplash, it's the fabulous tile IMO. I second eam44's suggestion to reach out to them, they are very helpful. If you received samples, you probably already have a salesrep to whom you can speak, but otherwise, just call. I'm linking here to their tile sizes. You could pick a tile with variation and the 3x3's in the same color might do the trick. Good luck!...See Morelavender_lass
