I don't know about Spice World, but the small containers from Penzey's are plastic (about 2" tall and 1-1/2" diameter). They are OK for storage, but I do wish they stacked better (I keep mine on a shelf on the kitchen hutch). The next size bigger comes in a glass jar (about 4" tall). When I find a spice I like, I buy the larger quantities (I think 4 oz. and above) from Penzey's which come in plastic bags. I either reuse the small plastic jars (for the same spice/herb) or I have my DIL save glass baby food jars. I keep the rest in the refrigerator in glass jars - I save all the nice small ones from marinated artichokes, etc. - or use extra canning jars if it's not canning season. I have three of those magnetic lid metal ones that somebody gave me as a gift - they filled them with different BBQ rub mixtures. The salt corroded the metal (I don't know what kind of metal they are?) and the magnets tend to reach out and try to pull the rest of the canisters off the shelf, usually removing the lids in the process. What a mess. I don't use those anymore. Just don't store your spices where it's hot and moist (like in the cabinet next to the stove, unfortunately) unless you use them up within a few months. I'm still searching for the perfect storage system. DH just finished building his workshop, so maybe I'll drop a hint about what I want him to make me for Christmas!

Buckeyegoldenmom just posted the tins I bought from Specialty Bottle. I like the clear lids for being able to do a quick glance into the tops without even touching them before I go to the store, but they have other types of lids and containers. I use the 4 oz size for the majority of my spices and salts. I also use a few of the 8 oz size in the back for larger size herbs (bay leaves) or ones I use in large quantities like cinnamon, chili powder, and my homemade Italian spice blend. For some reason, the 8 oz lids don't fit as snugly as the 4 oz lids. I go nuts over these tins. They appeal to my OCD need to have sameness and organization wherever I go. Plus, the price is definetly right! The lids fit tightly, yet are easy to get remove. The only issue I've had in 18 months is the ground cloves tin, which had a sticky lid after about 16 months. I removed the cloves and washed the tin, fixing the problem. I made some spice blends at Christmas and poured them in little tins as gifts. I also ordered some of their clear Boston bottles to package my homemade vanilla extract gifts. I might be coming addicted to that online store! Since you've seen my spice drawer, that is a 24 inch frameless drawer. I have one for spices and one next to it for utensils. Having my spice drawer meant having a utensil crock on the counter for the other utensils. Anyway, that drawer holds about 110 jars and that the round ones. They allow me to get my fingers in between the tops. The narrower top on the Victorian jars should also. Mine are 2.25 inches wide while the Victorian are 2 inches. I don't know the width of your drawer, but you would get more of the Victorian in the same space as mine. That's a lot of spice jars. Have you figured out how many you can fit or how many you need? I know some folks balk at the idea of buying matching jars or having to set them all up, but the ease of use over the years has been well worth it. I also bought a Brother label maker with laminated tape for the tops. It was a good excuse for an upgrade -- and they seem to go on half price sale fairly often. The laminated tape keeps them cleaner than regular labels or paper tape. I've been using these for close to 8 years now and I'll never go back. I know that drawers are tough to give up, but when you think about how much cabinet or pantry space you free up, it's a lot easier. I would stay with a top drawer if at all possible -- the jars are right there at your fingertips when you need them. I was supposed to have a 4 drawer stack where I would up with a 3, so I looked at adding a roll-out tray inside the top of that middle drawer. I haven't done it, but that could be an option for you in terms of getting some of the organization you might like in the deeper drawers.

I would love to have them in a drawer but not sure how. I've seen the slanted dividers for displaying them in drawers, but I know that not all of the bottles shapes would fit that design. I've thought about changing out all the bottles to a standard size and using a label maker to mark the tops so that I can put them all standing upright in a drawer - just not sure if that's worth the effort. That is pretty much what I did, and it was definately worth the effort. I designed some drawers that were high enough for the bottles I wanted to store, including some half pint canning jars that I use for bay leaves and that sort of thing.
