Spice storage . . . Reds in frig?
Comments (14)I think it is more likely that the clumping issue is due to moisture getting into your spices...I find this happens no matter what container you keep them in. To solve the clumping problem I use a product called Dry Spice. You just drop these canisters into your spice containers and it keeps your spices fresh, flavorful, and there are no clumps! You can see what I mean at www.dryspice.com. As far as the bugs...I doubt it. Sometimes bugs get in things...I don't think you can blaim the red color, it just happens some times. Comments (13)Anyone else have a problem with the larger 8 oz size covers being too loose? The 4 oz. size I have are perfect...snug, but not so tight its hard to get them off. The 8-oz. size are loose enough to come off if you lift the tin from the cover only. I called Specialty Bottle and explained the problem and they very kindly went to the warehouse to check if other 8-oz tins had the same problem, said no, then sent me a new set of them, (without even requiring me to send the others back). Unfortunately, the new set is just as loose as the originals....See MoreNew (to me) Spice Storage Idea
Comments (9)Question: BUT does anyone have problems with these on the door, and when closing the door the jars bump into the stuff inside your cabinet? It seems to me that you aren't saving any space if you have to push back things and you can't store items (cans/bottles) right up to the front edge of the cabinet?...See Morespice storage
Comments (2)I love it! Was it expensive? i'm not sure, since it was part of my total cabinet cost. maybe $300 total for the two pullouts? (i'm guessing) How tall is it? it's a 30" tall upper cabinet, but 15" deep, rather than the standard 12". Can it be added to an existing cabinet? probably, since my cabinet was mounted to the wall first and the pullouts were added later. Do all the spice containers come with it? no. someone here turned me onto them somewhere along the line. here's a link to where you can buy the containers.
