Which induction cooktop do you have and what do you love about it
Comments (24)The GE Monogram requires 12" space underneath and most of the others don't. The Thermador, Miele, and Bosch have cook timers that turn off. The GE Monogram and Electrolux do not turn off. They all have different size elements so you can see which configuration works for you. Some of the models (Thermador,, Bosch) has direct touch for the heat level you want. Others you have to tap tap tap to get to the number (Monogram actually is touch and hold, and Miele I forget.) Electrolux I THINK is tap tap tap but not sure. (I did all this last month and am looking at my notes) I am confused about Power Boost but I wrote these notes when going through the user manuals. Maybe someone can clear this up??? Thermador: other in zone has to be off Miele: Booster Power share Bosch: other in zone has to be off Monogram: Power Share if other is off Electrolux: Power Share-- other DOESN'T have to be off. Is that correct? Another thing is how long the burner will stay on if you remove a pan from the element (like for shaking the pan around). Again, This is what I wrote from the manual but you should double check. I'm not guaranteeing any info : ) Thermador: 90 seconds Miele: Pan Remove 3 minutes Bosch: Doesn't Specify Monogram: 30 seconds Electrolux: 3 minutes...See MoreIs it ok to put a warming drawer under an induction cooktop?
Comments (5)antss-I certainly appreciate what you are saying but I was looking for opinions from what I know are very knowledgable people on this forum. I can take all the comments and then make my own educated decision. By the way, are there any appliance specialists out there?? In my recent experiences at the local appliance stores, I know more than the sales people--it is very frustrating to get entirely different answers to the same questions. I did call both Diva and Thermador. Diva said that I could definitely place the warming drawer in the middle of the cabinet base. Thermador's exact words "You can put a warming drawer anywhere you want." Didn't exactly inspire a lot of confidence! pecanpie-thanks for your feedback. I want to place my drawer in the same place you have yours Can I ask what brand of induction you have? I am going with the Diva which is only about 4" deep so I think having the top drawer for ventilation will be fine....See MoreWarming drawer under an induction cooktop
Comments (9)Tusseydreamer, Of course you can put a warming drawer underneath an induction cooktop. In terms of the brands Miele vs. Electrolux you should be good with either. I imagine that the Miele cooktop will come in at a higher price, but I believe this model might have less clearance needed when putting other appliances below it (I think Miele comes in at 4 inches). Just to be safe, I'd double check the specs on both units. It sounds like you enjoy "getting down" with your appliances. I'm certainly not trying to talk you out of the Elux Speed Oven, but the thermador as a new steam oven that's really sick. Steam settings, convection, and steam plus convection. Obviously this unit differs from a speed oven in that it doesn't combine both microwave and convection at the same time, but it might be a cool addition to your kitchen. Both Bosch and Kitchenaid make really good dishwashers. I tend to lean more towards Bosch simply because of an internal water heater as opposed to a heating element found in a kitchenaid. Although having said that, I think that the Kitchenaid KUDE70FXSS has an internal heater instead of a heating element. The frig you selected is really cool. I believe it has a LCD touch screen, buttons are cool! :) Here is a link that might be useful: Want to laugh and learn about appliances? Comments (27)Not under a cooktop but the same idea- middle drawer of a 30" frameless cabinet. These are not adjustable, (mine and predate when I could do that easily) Spacing is 3-1/2 to 4-1/2 clear between and dividers are 4-1/4" (4-1/2" max) high to allow lids and (11") fry pans to tilt enough to clear and saucepans to sit front to back. It also allows much easier access than full height dividers. Drawer box sides should be full height if at all possible. Larger fry pans, square sided sauteuse, woks, etc. get stored elsewhere. Usually with tray dividers in base cabinet though the first two can work in the top drawer of a frameless caibnet. (I hate stacking) Nowadays I spec adjustable in most brands, the one brand that I can't do that with we put them in with pocket hole screws and fit them to the clients actual stuff....See Morepuertasdesign
