I would do white for sure.

Do you have an inspiraton pic you can refer to? Please show us a pic when you're done, cause that tile is really pretty! I think the grout color decision is as hard as choosing the tile:(

White-I think it will look really sharp since the cabs are white. I cannot wait to see it installed.

Rule of thumb on grout....select it to match the tile as close as possible....unless you want the grout to make a statement.

So white definitely for the first....white for the second will give you greater awareness of the grout lines.

I would do as close a color match as possible to the tile color on the second. Without seeing the specific green/gray it's hard to say for sure how well it will blend, but I think that white would stand out pretty sharply against the greyish tiles. I vote for gray (or gray/green).

Are you thinking white because it will be a tie in to the other BS?
My vote though, would be the green/gray. Maybe if you had subway tiles, I would choose white, but with these small squares, I would want something that would just blend in.

Not sure how accurate this is, but I was told always match grout with a dark, or the darkest, color in the tile. But, I prefer grout to be background noise, not the main event, thus the reason I was probably given that advice. Agree with what Annie said - if you want the grout to make a statement and you want to emphasize the small squares, go white. If you want to showcase the tile, which I think is beautiful, go gray or green/gray. So, if it were me, it would be white for the first and a green/gray for the second.

I would keep them the same, even though they are diff. tiles, you don't want to darken the other one with a slightly darker grout. White for sure.

Good point michelle. But I think that since the different tiles are on different walls, you can match each grout to it's tile. Both walls will have whites, grays and greens in them.

Ellendi, yes, I was thinking white to tie into the other tile, but green/gray is probably better to make it blend in. I didn't want to do a backsplash on the window wall at all but am forced to do something because of a gap between the granite and wall. This was covered in an earlier thread.

Annsch, the wall color is SW comfort gray. It's really pretty in real life, but I haven't tried to get a good picture of it yet.

How about a greyish (not stark) white for both?

It reallly is a pretty color. I am looking at wall paint color right now.

Any particular reason you're using two different tile patterns? I really like the first one and think it would be really pretty under the window too.

Back when I was picking my wall colors I found the article linked below about a designer's love for comfort gray. I thought it was pretty funny. It's a good color, but I don't know if it's as great as he thinks it is!

I never wanted to use the mosaic on the window wall because there isn't much space there (only about 4 inches under the window) to get the pattern going. The pictures I just posted don't show the scale well at all - the mosaic is a larger scale than the squares. I should have both tiles tomorrow so I can take a picture of them together.

Annsch, I don't know if you'll look at this thread again, but I was doing a walk-through with our builder last night and he was going on and on about how great and happy the wall color is. I used comfort gray in quite a few rooms throughout the house, and it really does look different in every one, but it always looks good.

My tile installation will start Monday morning and I am so excited!! I picked out a gray/white grout that looks good with the square tile, but I still may do white for both.

Thinking platinum color, don't know your bs tiles exact color but a light hue of grey is what I think, it holds up looking clean too.
