BM Simply White

I personally think Simply White is very stark, as I just hung a bunch of cabinet doors in that color. Dover White (I have one sample cabinet door in this color for comparison) or Roman Column are still white but more muted. There's another thread right now about whites for cabinets that has photos of cabs in some of the colors you're considering.

Also helps to buy some quart samples and paint a few boards and actually look at them in person, next to a sample of the shutters, the woods, etc. There are so many variations of white, and the lighting and juxtaposing surfaces can make a huge difference in what you ultimately see and "feel" when looking at one color vs another.

I'm with Kat on the BM Simply White...afterall I got the color from her. It looks great with green/yellow/blue/gray.

It is warmer than a stark white, but I could see how people might think of it as stark.

To me, BM Decorator White is very stark (it reminds me of white poster board!), the Simply White is a true clean white without being stark, but compared to whites with more yellow/blue/gray/peach in them it would appear stark, so I also can see how people might call it stark if you held it up against those other whites. Can you paint a large enough spot on your house so that you can see it in all types of light from early morning to late evening? Also depending on where you have it on the house and what it faces it will reflect different light from greenery, even the sky. I have white white walls in my bathroom more along the lines of the decorator white so very stark and when it is late afternoon one of the walls in there looks very pale blue because of the way the sun hits during that time of day and the reflection of the sky if it's a bright sunny day.

I LOVE simply white. Love it. I did the trim through my entire house with it, and it is beautiful. it is a true white with a *touch* of warmth. I've used it with BM quincy tan, feather grey, texas leather, fairy pink, beach plum, beacon hill damask, manchester tan, you name it. Looks fabulous with all colors.

We just had most of our upstairs painted using BM Super White (mixed up in Aura in the matte finish). I was a little nervous because I thought it would be a very, very bright white, based on how it looks compared to the other whites on the fan deck and in the BM whites folder. On our walls however, while it is a very a pure white--no yellow, no grey, no blue undertones, it seems warm (much warmer than the BM White-01 that we had used prior) and inviting. It is the nice clean white I'd hoped for.

BM Linen White is awesome. No undertones. Just a nice soft white.
