wow Revans1 - That is so unique! Love it. Ravmd, my sink will be on the wall with no window but the kitchen remodel won't begin for a few weeks. My sink will have furniture feet but other than that my KD didn't plan anything unusual. Backsplash is not determined yet.

I like the ideas about the wall faucet, nice tile, and recessed area...Might help make it feel less like there's a wall in your face.

It is a big change for me and want to make sure I don't regret it and feel like I have a 'wall in my face'!

Mine is just a plain galley, nothing fancy on the wall, but here it is. :)

I like the extra height above the sink in the drawing igloochic included and the mirror idea is really interesting.
I saw a few on atticmag website but they are hard to see the details.
Would love to keep seeing some photos. Thought of just some bulky open shelves as an idea as well.

any regrets for those that have this sort of set up??

I like the idea that the wall could be recessed a bit into the garage. I'm always a big fan of mirrors in a situation like this, and that's what I'd go for. Maybe a mirror going across the recessed area, and then some shallow shelves going across the nook with plants, or something pretty. Could give you an open, outdoors-y feel.

i saw the mirror idea in a decor mag and loved it. i also once saw a reproduction oil painting used the same way (you'd want to laquer it well to protect the finish) but i do love the idea of the recess. that extra space behind the sink would be nice to have. that cab will be lit to bring a bit more visual space to the area. i've also seen that cabinet used wth a plate rack, open to drain on the bottom into the sink.

My soon-to-be born kitchen is designed this way. We have a cabinet planned for the space above the sink.

At my local Lowes, there is a display where there is a cabinet above the sink, and it is 24 or so inches above the sink, with a valance at the bottom, and it has glass doors and lights. Its a pretty piece.

We just went with regular doors, but did raise the cab so there is a nice open space above the sink. I am planning to hand some sort of art there.

Here is mine. This is an 1890 Victorian and the kitchen is in the middle of the house. I have a Chicago wall faucet and the floating shelves are from Pottery Barn. They are easy to install and hold a lot of weight. I haven't yet found what I want to hang on the wall.

Here's mine. The glass cabinets have lights in them.

No regrets! Our kitchen is part of a bigger space that some would call a keeping room, or family room plus breakfast area. Our prep sink has this view, plus a pool & trees outside, and we spend much more time using it than our cleanup sink. We spend little time doing dishes because most everything goes into our Miele dishwashers. We love the big sink for scrubbing big pans.

Glad to hear that you spend most of your time at the prep sink. That was a previous question I posted as my main sink will be against a wall but the prep sink will be in an island facing out towards the patio.
happy to hear there are no regrets. As others know I am trying to adjust to not having my sink planned around a window! so this is helping.
