you can use any spray cleaner you want - nothing will hurt it. I think personally i'd stay away from stuff containing bleach, but that's just b/c I don't like bleach on my work areas.

I've been using Method all surface spray or simple green.

Soapstone can't be damaged by any cleaners so don't worry. You can really use whatever you want. However, any cleaning solution which degreases will also remove some of the oil so the area may fade more quickly and require more frequent oiling. Maybe make up a dilute bleach solution to use on areas of contamination as that shouldn't degrease.

I don't use antibacterials in my house but I use a Dr Bronners castille soap solution to wipe them down if I think there is a need for it. It's a versatile product: smells great, cleans hardwood, tile, windows, body, cars, cabinets etc. You can find it in your local health food store (and Target too I think)

I used clorox antibacterial wipes with bleach on my soapstone and it works great! no damage and gets it really clean...( i dont oil them very much)

i noticed when i got down the end of the package and the wipes had a lot more solution on them, they left a soapy residue on the countertops, which easily came off with a quick wipe down of a wet towel...but i was a little annoyed with that, so i am now in the search for a better cleaner...let me know if you find anything good!
