WT for kitchen windows-Pls post pics
Comments (9)It's been 2 years since we finished the kitchen and I still haven't found window treatments. Have a feeling I never will. Last fall I hung a swag in the window and replaced it with a winter wreath in December. Just ordered a zinnia wreath from LL Bean that I plan to hang there next....See MoreSuggestions for kitchen window treatment (pic)
Comments (14)Would shutters interfere with the crank for the casement windows? Where would they be mounted and where would they stack? While I am no great fan of them in general (and that's my personal taste speaking), I think this may be a perfect place for neat, clean blinds or shades. Something transluscent, if you opt for the latter. A neat Roman shade might be an alternative, but you will have to think carefully about how you plant to mount it and how its lower edge will "mesh" with the cranks for your windows. Also, it's likely that an inside mount Roman will create more stack than a commercially available blind or shade. You could also do sheer panels (shirred or otherwise) on tension rods, but you will lose visibility to the sides of the window opening if you opt to "open" them. You have to decide how important it is to have the view completely "open" to the view, THAT is going to lead you to the best choice for your kitchen. In my opinion......See MorePlease share pics of your kitchen window modern trim?
Comments (5)Don't mean to hijack the thread but I have the same question as OP. The house has (sort of) transitional style. The current moulding is very traditional and clashes with my contemporary streamlined kitchen. Contemporary works in the house as long as it is not "stark contemporary", iykwim. But I am having a very hard trim finding a trim and a wall tile wouldn't work for me, unfortunately. Please keep the ideas coming!...See MoreKitchen backsplash with in wall windows (pic)
Comments (2)I don't think I would. For me it would depend, in part, on the depth of the window ledge. You might want to try a mock-up using your tiles and double stick tape to give you a, somewhat, better picture of what it will look like. BTW, the mini-windows are a great idea....See Morerocketmomkd
