Medallion cabinets

I just got Medallion cabinets. The cabinets are Stockton. I have two problems. One is the the cabinets that have two doors without stiles on them have big gaps in them. They appear to be about 1/4 of an inch and I can see the shelves which are a lighter color through the cracks. Also I notices that the stain on my finished end panels that look like double doors is very poorly done along the panel seams. There is almost a whitish looking line. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

The gap in the doors could just be a hinge adjustment. As far as the doors ends, contact your dealer and get replacements.

Let me see if I understand you on the end panels. Are you saying that on your end panels, you have a deluxe doorstyle end panel that matches your cabinet doors?

If yes...On recessed and raised panel doors, when the air is too dry, the middle panel can shrink and expose a bit of unfinished wood. Where do you live? Usually in the summer, humidity is the problem and doors/wood swell.

Does this sound like what you are talking about?

Or it's possible the panel has shifted during shipping. Sometimes you can knock the panels back by gently tapping a door on a protected surface. But it sounds like your cabinets are installed so that's not an option. Call your dealer to come out and see them. They will be able to touch up the finish for you.

We have Haas cabinets at the beach house, put in by the builder. I'm sure they are the least expensive Haas had on offer. They look nice, but the drawer glides are those really cheap kind that install on the side of the drawer and have a nylon wheel. Also, the stile in the middle of the 30" cabinet is 4" wide. As a result, the pullouts (two up, two down) are only 8" wide. Result: 16" width of storage space in a 30" cabinet. It bugs me every time I open it. Maybe Haas has a higher quality line, but I would buy Medallion if I were you. I've heard nothing but good things about them. Oh...I have seen (and heard from others here) that Medallion cherry can have big knots/holes right in the middle of the door. I actually saw one displayed in a kitchen showroom. It might help to specify that any doors or drawers like that wouldn't be acceptable.

Beware Medallion does not honor their warranty! We purchased $18,000 of cabinets from them. Not one single cabinet out of the box is good. Open miters on every door & drawer front, cracks all over the place gaps inside the cabinets, and the stacked cabinets don't match up at all. The range hood is cracked and scratched so badly we didn't even take it out of the box all the way. They are only offering us $5,000 credit towards a new set of cabinets. #medallionfailsoncraftmanship

The warranty from Medallion and Elkay is WORTHLESS! I have had the same exact experience as this poster. I had issues with my cabinet finish starting 24 months after the installation. I made several attempts to have the design company look at the cabinets for warranty replacement. Guess what?? Never happened. Never returned the call, never came out... and then - of course they went out of business. Now I am in my 3rd month of emailing the Elkay rep - after he came to our house, took pictures, promised warranty replacement, etc. This company is a joke. Do not buy your cabinets from this manufacturer. We spent over $25,000! Yes - a lot of money... for a lot of cabinets... and quality and a warranty that is WORTHLESS!

There are no chip proof cabinets, white or wood. White just shows it more. Every white cabinet ever built will chip in the right circumstances. A sharp 90 edge like the currently popular shaker is just more prone to impact damage than a slightly rounded edge. If the look of chips and normal wear wear and tear really bothers you, get wood cabinets. They show it less.
