kitchen sink - pros and cons of having drain in back

What is the advantage of having the drain in the back of the sink? The only thing I can think of is that it would give you more storage space in the base cabinet since the disposal would be further back. Are their other pros?

I am planning to have the trash cans under the sink (it's a relatively small kitchen and I just couldn't afford to give up other cabinet space for a trash pullout), so maybe it would be best to get a sink with the drain in the back to leave as much space as possible for the trash cans (may try to get a rev-a-shelf pullout in there).

Anyone have advice on this? Thank you in advance!
