boxerpups, can you help?

I don't know what you have in your arsenal, but what I'm looking for are pictures of mosaic tile backsplashes where the majority of the splash is little mosaic tile and the accent over the range is different in some way. I got some wonderful ideas and pictures in my previous thread, but I'm still looking for inspiration pics.

Ideally, I'd like to see possibly a large metal or maybe stone accent tile type thing, but not in the way of a landscape or fruit or fleur-de-lis type thing, but something more -- I don't know -- funky maybe? I can't seem to find anything like that. (I did find a nice metal wall tile of five nudes that I actually liked a lot, but I just can't put that in my kitchen!) I know what I don't want, but I don't know what I do want till I see it.

So if you happen to have anything, I'd sure appreciate it!

Not really mosaic, but might possibly spark an idea? I can definitely NOT hold any candle to Boxerpups, but just posting in case my very small contribution gives you an idea.

Okay, Here goes. Please know that some of pictures did not link up. This happens sometimes. No worries here are some of them for now... And I went back to your old thread posted the images. Pal, when my daughter was little, like 4 and 5, she always insisted that we go through the china and silver section of Robinson's or Bullock's or wherever (not Sears or Penny's). She loved the pretty things, and the one she loved the most on any given trip was guaranteed to be he most expensive item on the shelf. This was before she knew about price tags. This was the same child who asked me why I didn't make good dinners like Grandma. "What does Grandma make that's so good?" I asked. I'm not the best person to comment on layout decisions, but I think the design elements you're proposing work much better with the style of home. I'm not sure about the oil-rubbed bronze hardware for the faucet on the island, though. Maybe you could do brushed nickel for the faucets and oil-rubbed bronze for the rest of the hardware? (Clearly, I have no qualms about mixing finishes!)

Your kitchen is so pretty. I wish you had more pictures up. I love everything you did. The wood countertop is beautiful, your backsplash, love the color. Pendants gorgeous, you did a great job in picking out. I was glad to see you used posts on your island. I picked them too and I like seeing how they look in others kitchens. Thanks for showing!!

firsthouse, I haven't seen a camouflage of the range vent like that before--instead of playing it up, you played it down and very skillfully too.

not sure if this is what you're looking for, but I took the awesome pic from firsthouse and mocked up a bs with mosaic tiles and embossed copper, SS, and granite behind the stove.

If you post a pic of your stove (straight on shot), granite and the kind of mosaics you like, I can take a stab some mockups if you like.

Bad bad me...I should have mentioned that this is not my house. It belonged to someone else and was for sale, so I went over and took some pics to pass along to a friend who was in the market. I just thought the backsplash had such a nice pattern, and I liked the vent hood as mentioned by florantha.

thank you Boxerpups for the pics. I'm thinking that what I have in my head probably doesn't exist - and probably for good reason. Perhaps using the mosaic as field tile would be just too much. hmmm...

and thanks to you Chicagoans - It's quite something to see that mosaic up on my wall!! It has me second guessing myself now, although in reality the mosaic is lighter and luminous, which doesn't come across. double hmmm....
