Does anyone grow Belinda's Dream?
Comments (14)I agree, the first photo looks like BD, b/c she changes shape so much in the course of the bloom life--at the end, she is ruffly and rounded like this. I also agree that it's amazing she opened up at all and shows little damage with all those thrips!! I hope those guys blow through soon and you don't have to fight them anymore (it's my impression that they are a spring pest). Take this for what it's worth, because I am no expert. But if that rose were on my property, I would probably try a few organic treatments for thrips and fungal problems, as well as getting some of the bad stuff pruned out. (Though I dont' know if pruning during an infestation of fungal disease you will spread it--something to ask before you start cutting). I would also work on getting it IDed positively...that second photo that shows the whole plant has a bloom that looks tiny in comparison to my BD. Wouldn't that be great, if you found out this was not her at all and you could just start fresh with fewer problems (if you replaced with a genuine BD, I mean)? Best wishes to you. I like the idea from the above poster who suggested contacting your extension and TAMU for diagnosis and treatment suggestions. Hopefully they can help you by looking at your photos....See Moreabout to take the plunge and buy an nxr! anyone know bake btus?
Comments (14)We just bought the NXR from aj madison online. Awesome experience. The installation was for $60 !!!!! White glove delivery. The range is my dream come true ! I purchased it without seeing it. Just researched all info on it via forums and websites. (not that there is much out there on this range to go by....hence my post). Burners are beautiful ! Double stacked , they come apart for cleaning. Grates are heavy duty. Oven works great and the infra-red broiler is just amazing for grilling ! cons :yes there is one maybe two...I find it hard to clean. The top is not one smooth piece of metal and food could get stuck in the grooves on the surface. It does not have self clean oven feature - something I don't really miss. ( my previous range did, and I remember using it once in the 5 yrs I owned that range). Oh, and there are no fancy controls or timers..I just use my microwave timer. All in all gets a 9 out of 10 !...See MoreAran White Granite...anyone know about it?
Comments (21)How funny. :) My husband doesn't like White priacema, he thinks it's too swirly. We don't like the speckled and we don't like super swirly so the BA and Aran are more like rocks if that make sense. Anyway, I have gray, blue floors and for some reason they don't look as good with the BA even though I like that a little better. If I had hardwood floors I would pick BA but mine are not going anywhere soon so I think I will go with the Aran White. I can also paint my cabnits a different color in the future like green or blue with the aran and I like that option cuz I change my mind alot. Anyway, good luck and I can't wait to see what you pick. You have such good taste I'm sure it will be beautiful. ;) hee hee...See Moreeeeek...etching on new quartzite counter
Comments (149)Howdy!!! Seems like this thread is relatively active. Not to beat a dead horse but if someone could help, we’d be so appreciative! We are finishing out a kitchen remodel and got our countertops installed Wednesday. We told the salespeople we wanted counters that were as white as possible but we could not do marble because we have five kids and can’t deal with stains or etching. I told them we likely needed granite and that I prefer granite typically. The salesperson sold me on Luce di Luna which I think is the one y’all have mentioned as not actually being quartzite? The person who sold it to us said it was a real stone (unlike quartz) and that it was more practical than marble because it won’t etch/stain and works like granite. We’ve used it for all of 36 hours and I noticed tonight MANY marks (forgive me I forget whether they would be “stains” or “etches”) on the island overhang where said children have sat to eat multiple meals. We are very clean people but didn’t anticipate any issues and thus didnt thoroughly clean the counters till this evening when I unpacked the cleaning supplies that had been boxed up from the remodel. Here’s some photos. So two questions: is there any chance this is indeed quartzite? We took a razor blade to it and saw only a minor scratch that wouldn’t be noticeable. And 2. Assuming this is our new reality, is there any way to repair marks like these so at least we can get a “do-over?” Can’t believe we trusted the “experts.” We are very disappointed and discouraged. Thanks for any pointers!!...See Morecalicake
