Yeah, Tom has it right. Nothing is too small. Let me tell the story of my "dixie cup" tree. Near the town of Hyattstown, MD--not to be confused with Hyattsville, MD, there was an old house with two Norway spruce trees planted in front as traditional German "bride and groom" trees. These two trees, when I first saw them, made me think of the giant conifers of the Pacific N.W. I visited these trees from time to time just to see how they were doing and to admire their magnificence. One of the last times I saw these trees the house had been abandoned and it was spring, so I thought I would scrounge around and see if I could find any seedlings. Well, I found a few, but they were so very, very small--really just seeds that had germinated just about a week before. No green except the little ring of cotyledons. I put them in little plantic coffee cups that I found by the roadside (not actually dixie cups) and took them home and planted them in my garden. One soon died. Another lived for a little over a year, and the third I have growing now at my place in Winchester. After it grew in my garden in Arlington for about 4 years, I moved it to my timberland place where it grew for three more years and then I moved it to my place in Winchester. It almost died from my fertilizer mistake three years ago, but is now in full recovery mode. I really treasure this little thing--maybe not so little now. So--nothing is too small, even for transplanting. The other two seedlings died, probably because they were not the product of cross pollination. A pair of trees NS growing alone is usually not a good source for seed that will produce good strong trees. But these trees were so magnificent, I had to try to find something. I say "were" because the one that was slightly smaller has died--and I have not seen the other one for more than 10 years now. --Spruce

Exactly what rocketmomkd said. Just about any tile size from 1" up to as large as tiles get can be used in a kitchen. It just depends on what look you want and what tile you like. Certainly less grout is probably easier to clean, but I wouldn't be worried about that with 12x12s. Seal your grout before you begin using the kitchen and that should help prevent staining. I also do not see a problem with having a bathroom with larger tile. And honestly, I imagine if the rooms aren't adjacent you won't even notice that the 13x13s are larger than the 12x12s.

When I was a kid, I had a 'bedroom' that was actually the closet off another bedroom. Big enough for a twin bed plus a small dresser. Probably not technically legal, but in a house with four kids and three bedrooms, you stick people where they'll fit. :). I loved it honestly. Our current master (and only) bedroom is ten by ten. We have a queen bed plus one dresser in the room. 'Bedside tables' are small wall mounted shelves, just enough space for glasses and a phone. Or a book. The bed is a storage bed, the Cynthia Bed from Pottery Barn. It's a life saver. We have room for all clothes plus other random stuff too, like our printer lives in one of the drawers. The only issue I see is that with a white wall and the white canvass, the painting gets a bit lost on the wall. I'd either paint the wall or frame the painting. I know it isn't ideal, but I think that would help define the painting and make it look more like it belongs there. Some of the message of the painting is lost when it just fades into the wall. Even if you just somehow put a black piece of laminate or something behind it on the wall. You might want to consider painting the walls (I know, this was probably not on your mind when you posted this) but it would make some of the other elements in the room not look so washed out too, like the lampshades. I wouldn't paint it any type of color, just something light grey enough to contrast. But I think it might look cool to just have a black board on the wall behind the painting.
