I hope this works for you, the other option is to have that part of the back replaced. But that can be difficult because the dealer being a wholesale club! Leather terms can be misleading. Top grain can be referred to as full grain, but now for many retailers it usually means corrected grain hides. A leather tanner can do a cheap job of finishing this type of leather, and the results can be as you have experienced. Thats why of all the leather types you can buy the top grain or corrected grain hides can vary the most in quality. Its so very important to have knowledge of the manufacturer when buying any top grain leather. Full grain aniline dye leather is very obvious and so is semi-aniline. And that goes for bi-cast leather also, which really is more or less the same as vinyl.

Below is a kit I've used and it worked really well. Movers put 2" L-shaped gash on the front edge of a leather sofa and I was able to repair it with little effort. If you looked closely you could see the repair but it wasn't visible from a distance. And that was on an ivory leather sofa! We got a chip in ours while installing our soapstone- it was small but it bothered me too. I ordered the repair kit. If you can put on nail polish then you can repair your sink. It matches perfectly and you can't spot where it was done afterwards. I applied two coats and sanded it lightly between coats to feather the edges of the repair.

Does anyone have any experience using a repair kit to patch a chip in a fireclay sink? I have a Deca sink basin that was chipped during installation. The fabricator refuses to claim responsibility. Deca does not have a repair kit so I am considering ones from Franke and Rohl. I am wondering if anyone has any advice or experience using these types of products. Does it last and does it look good enough? It is a small chip in the corner so it's not terrible if it isn't perfect.
