If you are a perfectionist, I'd go for something other than SS. I spend more time cleaning my appliances than cooking on or around them. There are some finishes that are better. My dishwasher, a bosch, is horrible to clean. It hasn't really been clean in the three years we've owned it. The fridge and stove fronts are better but the black glass top on the stove, OMG! What a nightmare.

With the right microfiber cloths, ss is not hard to clean , it's just that it shows spots more than white appliances, which only shows darker than white stains.

In your decor you describe, I would go with the ss fridge, it's more neutral. A fridge is a big mass, I think a white fridge would really stand out in your color scheme. Your other ss appliances are only 2 years old, they'll last another 8 at least.

Like mitchdesi, I also think white would be too much of a contrast with the colors you are intending to put into the kitchen. I am not a lover of white appliances for the most part.

I'd also go w/SS too - white would be a drastic contrast to the wood IMO.

I would also go with SS. I agree with the others, white will stand out with your cabinets and counter colors, instead of blending in. Like mitchdesj said. it's not hard to clean with micro fiber cloths..you can just spray it with water, and use your cloth..the SS cleaners make a residue build up and thats when it's really hard to keep clean.

I'd go with white. I had a SS cooktop once. I hated it. It was a bear to clean and it shows everything. Then one of the kids took something scratchy to it crosswise. That ruined it and nothing I could do fixed it. I was so glad to get back to normal ordinary finishes. I think this SS craze will pass -- just as soon as women get thoroughly fed up with it, and many will.

As my housekeeper would have said, "That white will stick out like a sore thumb.." Stainless or black.

Another vote for ss - w/your palette ss would be complimentary
I use ss magic on my ss - every so often and micro fiber cloths for daily wipe up. We have a busy house w/lots of little fingers - no harder to keep the ss clean than the white.

I have all SS appliances and don't have any issues keeping them clean. Try Weiman's SS cleaner in the can if you decide to go with SS.

I love blue pearl granite.

I too would go with SS. We built a new house a few years ago (to sell, not to live in) and I put SS in it...it was truly beautiful and it had a more luxurious look to it than it would have had if I had put white appliances in it.

I am totally sick of keeping after my SS appliances. I would look for a "clean steel" or some other SS analog that will be easier to maintain.

Have you considered getting a fridge that will take a custom panel? Is it too late to get something matched to the cabs? That's what I will probably do next time. Or I'll get off-white painted cabs and get the dreaded oh-so-out-of-style bisque!

I love bisque, always have. If there are new homes going up by you, go tour them. A lot of builders here are using bisque.

There is no law saying all the appliances have to be the same colour. If you want to co-ordinate appliances that are set into cupboard fronts to your cupboards, and appliances and sinks that are set into benchtops to your benchtops, then that's fine too in my opinion. I went for white on everything except the sink which is stainless, but now I wish I'd gone for stainless steel on my stovetop too. I still like the white fridge,oven, dishwasher, stove hood and microwave better with my white cupboards, but the stainless goes better with the fake granite finish laminate benchtops.

WE put SS in our kitchen when we re did 2 years ago. The SS isn't that bad to keep clean, it is the black enamel of the stove top that drives me crazy! SS I can wipe clean the black enamel I have to constantly wipe and rewipe with a micro fiber cloth to get out the smears. Drives me crazy! I love the SS though

We have all new SS appliances. I don't find them that hard to keep clean. I have 3 kids...ages 9,8 and 6. I actually found myself obsessing more over our white appliances, because they showed dirt so easily. I love to wipe down the SS appliances...they are so pretty :) We bought some SS wipes that also help to repel fingerprints. I would buy SS again in a heartbeat.

Go with white.

I have dark cherry wood cabinets and granite look laminate with darker flecks in it. I went with white appliances because I wanted to balance the modern with the traditional.

Everyone told me I would regret not going with black or stainless steel. That could not be further from the truth.

The white looks fabulous as a contrast to the dark cherry cabinets. Everyone comments on how beautiful the kitchen is when they see it.

White goes with everything and is timeless.

I would go with the ss also as the white will be too stark and not blend in with the cabinetry. It will also pick up on the colors of your stone materials. If the frig goes on the back wall with the white cabs, maybe you could do white on that? although I do think your selections sound high end for a plastic frig mass. Panel-ready would be my choice if possible. You could do it with the d/w too.

I've heard that the best thing to clean SS with is regular rubbing alcohol. I'll be trying it in a few months. I think SS would be best in your room also.
