Kind of early, but live Christmas tree stands?

We've never had a live tree! We need a tree stand! They are out already! I see these ones holding tons of water, santa's solutions, ones that pivot the tree, all sorts of ones. Can someone suggest one they love? I know we had one as a chil that held the tree and it had to be weighted down and it tipped, often, so I'd like one that does not do that? One that hold some water, it does not have to hold 2 gallons. LOL. Anyone have one they LOVE? Thanks! No more fake tree for me! :) Hello pine needles! :) I am actually really excited about this new tradition. Most of my friends think I am nuts!

I got a real tree in 1999, I wanted to start a tradition for the new millenium; alas, I changed my mind when it came time to drag the thing out, on january 2.

How can they be out of tree stands already?

I think she means tree stands are available already, not that they're sold out-LOL.

We bought a Krinner about 5 years ago and it's the best one we've ever had. There are 2 sizes, we have the largest and it easily holds our 9 - 10' trees. It has 5 prongs to hold the tree and you simply depress the foot pedal and it ratchets the prongs to the trunk. The foot pedal even locks for safety. It holds a lot of water so you don't need to constantly refill the reservoir. It's available on Amazon and other stores. I should add that it's heavy - it weighs 18 pounds and has a 20" diameter base so it even remained steady and stable when my son's dog decided to jump over the couch and hit the tree about 2' above the base. I had the Swivel Stand and loved it. When we moved I asked all the kids if anyone wanted it. None did,so I donated it. This year DS#1 and wife decided to go with a real tree and he ordered the Swivel Stand on line. One other thing you might want to consider is the Tree Stand Tray. Menard's carries them in stock or you can get one from Amazon. DS had to order one of them too! It is a life saver if someone over waters the tree! The Omega looks really good to me, but it doesn't look wide enough for the trunk of nobles.... The one we have now holds about two gallons (maybe a little less) of water, it does screw towards the trunk, but it has levers that you push and you can slide the screw back and forth ... right up to the trunk and screw to tighten... or push the lever and pull away from the trunk. Very easy, I put the 11 foot tree up by myself... although it was VERY heavy. lol they drink like the dickens, I fill it up everyday for the first 4 days... then a little under a gallon a day after that... and less and less ...... ( don't know what kind I have! Just wanted to post a tree update! Thanks to you kind folks, we ponied up the money & ordered "Bowling's Last Stand." I was in love the second I took it out of the (Christmas tree shaped-cute!) box! It weighed a ton, the whole thing was made of iron or some similarly heavy-type metal. I triumphantly told DH, "The Tree Erection (ha, ha) Day will be better this year, this stand will MAKE Christmas merry!" And by George, it did! We put the tree up Saturday, and DH remarked how well-engineered the stand was. We chose a 12 ft stunner, and Dh and Ds were able to successfully get the tree in the stand, straight!! Dh said that stand was so sturdy we didn't even need the wood/wire tie thing he rigged up last year to bolt it to the balustrade! I told him my mental state required it, but it sure is nice not worrying everytime we leave the house that we will return home to Treemagenddon. :) So thank you for the wonderful suggestions, kind GW friends! I'd recommend one that holds at least a gallon of water unless you want to be watering it everyday. They drink a lot and if you don't water them they get messy and are a fire hazard.

Yes, I do meant that they are out in stores already. In stock on the shelves. Not out of stock. They make nift little bags that you store around the base now that you pull up and over the tree to drag it out and keep needles to a min. :) My old artificial one was shedding like a persian cat anyhow. :) I found one that holds 2 gal. of water. :)

Get one that holds tons of water!

Also a trick, instead of crawling underneath the tree to water everyday, get one of those crazy-long spouted watering cans.

No idea why, but there is a tradition where you put a penny in the water : )
