Pottery Barn Kids Discount coupons

I'd like to buy our grandson a dresser (w/navy drawers) that's only available online from Pottery Barn Kids. I've searched for discount coupons, but am unclear if they'll work for the Kids stuff or only at regular Pottery Barn Stores. Does anyone know more about using these coupons to get the best deal? Does their furniture go on sale? It's $699 for the dresser, then $100 service charge (packaging) and about 10% shipping. That really ads up!

Any help is appreciated.

You can always sign up for a gift registry and list this dresser on your registry. Then they will send you a 10% coupon as part of their completion program so that you can purchase anything left on your registry. Just be sure to put your event date soon so that your registry will expire soon(I have done a registry and made the following day the "event" date). They will only send you a coupon for the completion program after your "event" expires. It can be used in store or online. It is perfectly legal and free.

compumom - You must have missed my recent rant about PB shipping charges. About a week ago I ordered 2 end tables to use at nightstands. They added "shipping and handling", "delivery fees" and tax which added up to about $230, about $90 of that was tax. I called the support number, the local sotre, and tried every coupon code I could find. I was politely told that's just the way we do it. So I sucked it up, pretended it was just the cost of the tables and paid it. For my outrageous delivery fees I got the tables shipped from 10 mi down the road...lol. One came on a truck on Fri, the other on another truck the next Monday. They came UPS and were placed on my porch, no setup or anything. BUT, I do love the tables so I'd do it again and next time I won't beat my head up against the wall trying to avoid their charges I guess. Wish I'd known about Nancy's trick, I might've given that a shot! Good luck to you.

I get regular emails form them and currently there are no special discounts. I ordered my pendant lights from them and was hoping to find a discount as well. Of course, right after i ordered, free shipping was available. There were 2 offers during Dec., but they expired.

About the delivery: I think UPS marks a package "out for delivery" as soon as it leaves their warehouse and is placed on a truck. Sometimes the driver can't make all the deliveries he has on the truck, so the rest get delivered the next day. This has happened to me more than once. The drivers have set pick-ups at businesses they have to make, and they do those first, leaving stray packages for other customers on the truck until the next day. Another UPS story: I ordered two rugs from Crate & Barrel and was tracking their delivery progress from my computer (I have a long driveway with a locked gate, and can't tell when the package has been delivered without getting in my car and driving 1/4 mile). So I see that the rugs have been delivered, and I go out to get them. At the gate is one box--with one rug in it. I double-check online and it says "delivered" with the date and time. I call UPS (all you can get is an 800 number in another part of the country). She calls the local warehouse, and someone calls me back. I explain again, and she contacts the actual driver. Then she calls back and says that he had already scanned two boxes in as "delivered" (and can't change it once entered), but he didn't have a plastic bag large enough for the other box, so he put it back on the truck. He didn't want to leave my package out in the rain! It was deliverd the next day. :-) So, even if UPS's web site says your package has been delivered, it may not be true!

kitchentime, I wanted to thank you again for letting me use your code. I had to hem the drapes so I just got them hung yesterday, although I've had them a while. They were 7" too long--my other choice was about 7" too short. I re-learned how to use the blind hem stitch on my machine and the hemming came out perfectly. I also added drapery weights since they didn't have any. Here's a picture--note the pillows on the chair as well. It only needs one pillow for looks but needs two for comfort! Thanks again!

Pammyfay, that exact thing happened to me at Kohls a couple of weeks ago. I was in the store with my daughters and bought a pair of boots for one of them. They were $54 originally, on sale for $27. I bought them. While we were there, I saw a coat my older daughter liked but they didn't have her size. I decided to look for it online when we got home. First thing I noticed was that they were offering a 20% discount on all purchases (I'd had a 15% coupon I used in the store). They had the coat dd liked, so I bought that as well as a couple of other items. For some reason, I looked at the boots I had just bought not two hours earlier in the store. They were selling for $14.99 in the store plus 20% off. I purchased them again planning to return the ones I'd bought in the store which were double the price! I knew I'd be going back to the store anyway as I had another item to return so it wasn't a hassle and worth it to save $15 (actually almost $20 b/c the extra 20% off online vs the 15% off in store). It was pretty off-putting though to find the website was selling the exact same item at the same time for more than half what I'd paid in the store just hours earlier. Incidentally, I had something similar happen in the reverse at Lands End. I was exchanging some uniform shirts in the Lands End store at Sears that I'd ordered online. I'd gotten them on sale online but they didn't fit. I brought them to the store to return, explaining I wanted to exchange them for a different size, thinking they would re-order them for me. I didn't realize they carried the shirts in the store, so the salesclerk told me where they were. They only had one in stock and I needed two. When she rang me up, they came up even cheaper than what I'd paid online. She had to call lands End to order the second one, but they were advertising it online for the price I originally paid, not the in store price. However, the salesclerk told me that Lands End would price match the store price, which was 25% less. Funny how online vs brick and mortar can have such differing prices!

Thanks for the quick reply! I will do that, his birthday is on the 23rd! Should I say it's a shower or a birthday registry?

Thoughts appreciated also on the quality of the furniture and the finish. Is it worth it?

Mimi- those charges for UPS are outrageous!

When you are registering online they will ask you what kind of registry this is shower, birthday and I even think they may have "other". Since it is actually his bday though, why not just go with that? This is also so on regular Pottery Barn merchandise. I recently bought a new rug and registered for it as an "Anniversary Registry". It was totally true as it was our anniversary and I told DH that is what I wanted.
