Depends on where you stand re: color vs. monochrome. Since you are thinking a glass lamp, I say go for it. How about filling it with marbles. That way you'd have a...ahem...pop of color, but one that wouuldn't be too overwhelming.

I would get a pottery base similar to the pot you have there, actually that pot would make a beautiful base for a lamp. I think the addition of pottery anywhere makes for a very organic look. Also Google gourd shape lamps, that would look terrific too.

I don't know if you're using any other color in the room, but how about red? ;o)

The other colors in the room are/will be terra- cotta and taupe and that spa/silver sage.

I'm not sure the other lamps posted are my taste-they are beautiful, but just don't fit me.. (although I have been branching out more frequently)..

I was thinking something like this lamp with these stones (or maybe another color). What do you think?

I'm sorry the pictures are so small- when I copied them into my account i couldn't get them larger. I like the shape of the clear glass lamp- (the larger one or shorter one) as they remind me of a wine jug- to the left of the sectional and table is my dry bar so it seems fitting to me!! too much???

gillylilly--I have the Bacchus lamp that you are showing and I love mine. I don't have anything in mine currently, but like the look of it empty. I think it would be great in your room. Mine is in my bedroom which is gray wisp.

What purpose will the lamp serve? Reading, lighting, ambiance, decoration???? I'd choose something different for each of these.

The lamp will serve partly as deco. but more importantly extra light when reading on the couch and due to it's location i need something that has less of a chance of being knocked over by outstretched arms on the couch.

hmmmm, in that case gillylilly I would go with a substantial base and color that is much like the pottery style jug you have on the table already. I'd find one that has the three way bulb so that it can be multi purpose and tall enough to hover over the couch so the light is over any reading material. I would also consider moving the globe in the window onto the table. And I would put the basket of balls on the shelf beneath the table. So, table top would be globe, pottery jug, lamp. I wonder if you would consider a floor lamp that can go in the corner and arc over the couch corner, though.
