BM paint color recs for living area

I am repainting the main area of my house - open concept LR & DR as well as staircase. For years it has been BM Bleeker Beige. So, I don't want something too similar to what I have been looking at for so long although I loved it.

I have warm tones in these rooms - Dark browns, red/orange, golds. I would like something on the walls that could bring the area in a different, more contemporary/modern direction. Looking for a paint color to make the area crisp/clean and brighter.

Can anyone suggest a Benjamin Moore paint they love to cover a large main living area and which won't be overwhelming. I need to live with it for some time.

FYI - I am not wild about green paint. The only greenish ones that stand out to me are BM Camouflage or Soft Fern. If anyone has those, please describe what you think. Otherwise possibly something in the gold family (not yellow) or maybe a cool-toned paint that is able to blend in with warm tones to bring a more contemporary feel.

I think a teal color would be smashing if you're willing to try something very cool and modern. Teal is the color that is "it" this year. Try kokopelli teal BM 648, mexicali turquoise 662, oroceanic teal 669.

Or how about a gray like seattle mist 1535?

Or try wilmington tan HC-34. A great neutral but being a bit darker has more drama.

Linen white is my favorite BM white. You can't go wrong with it. It is not yellow, not gray, not brown, not pinkish truly an average of all the whites.

Randita, thank you so much for your suggestion. I will definitely go get a sample of the Halycon green. I guess I was thinking that it was too green for that room, but perhaps not... I can see that it may work. I do love SW whole wheat. It is one of my favorite colors. The room is presently Decatur Buff and I am now, after having it painted this for 3 years, finding it to be too dark and gold.....

Thanks, rorah, and others. I tend to gravitate towards cool vs. warm colors here. Can you try a mock-up of the Stonington Gray since I have two gallons of it? Also, maybe the Powell Buff. Not sure about Kangaroo. ?? I would likely need to stop at BM and see what kind of samples they have of these colors. DH does like the Nantucket Fog, and he said he was skeptical about the gray for a BR. So, in all likelihood, we are going to end up keeping it, so, yes, that means painting the bathroom. At least I don't have to hire painters to do it. I have had some issues with balance and vertigo over the past couple years, so I did not feel comfortable taking on a job where I'd need extended time on a ladder or step stool, but I'd be able to do that small space. I could send DH up on the ladder, but I'm the painter. He is a wonderful man, but he is not handy at all. I've done this entire interior on our house except for this BR. If I did it while he was home on a weekend, that would be OK for safety. I'll probably need to sell the leftover Stonington Gray on Nextdoor. I also have 3 gallons of primer. They are about 2 years old but have never been opened, so I'm sure I can't return them. cpartist thanks for the teal idea. I never thought of adding a color like that.

srg215 I just used revere pewter in my kitchen and I love the crisp feeling of it. Everything looks so clean.

Wilmington Tan is a great goldish tan color.

You have a lot of light color in there too. I would even consider going DARK with a gray. It would be very sophisticated. 2135-30 Nocturnal Gray, 2127-40 Wolf Gray, HC-168 Chelsea Gray, 1558 Fieldstone, 1543 Plymouth Rock

I'm a little worried that a blue would make the carpet appear too orangey, but I'll throw it out there anyway -- how about a pale gray blue like Quiet Moments? I don't think it would work with most of your artwork, though. I'd try a sample of Camouflage or Gray Mirage if I were you.

I painted my foyer and upstairs hallway Powell Buff. It's my favorite color by far. If I were to do my entire house in one color this is what it would be. Monroe Bisque is another nice one. These two are very sililar.

Thank you guys. I am starting to rethink this whole thing and may wait until I can buy a few more accessories and change it up. Maybe go with a cool toned color scheme instead of warm tones.

I saw this pillow in a Crate & Barrel store yesterday and was thinking of using the color scheme for inspiration...

I saw this room on Gardeweb and it incorporates these colors. Maybe I can take all my chocolate brown and bring in cool tones to make it more contemporary. Grays, whites, silvers, taupes?
