Decorateit, you obviously did not read the Terms of Service here - advertising your business is not permitted.

A sofa would look great if it were floating, with a console table behind it. I'd try floating it at this end of the bay window, with it's back facing the foyer area and the console table behind it. Then you would place the two chairs, (also floating), facing the window and TV, with a shared table in between them. The purpose of floating all the furniture would be to keep the walkways clear behind the furniture for the door at the right back corner and access to the foyer would also be clear. It looks as though you have enough room to do this, as long as the side chairs aren't too large and bulky.

Nanny - We like that idea and will definitely try that arrangement out! The picture above was taken from the dining room (our next room to tackle) while looking into the living room. I like idea of a console table behind the couch separating the two rooms and opening the walkway down the right side of the pic.

For the chairs we are looking at purchasing a pair of B-Y Chippendale style leather recliners. We already have a sofa in good condition to keep using for now. Now we'll start shopping for the sofa table, chair tables, pillows and more.

So, Virtual, I do like the idea of floating the furniture in the center of the room as Nanny suggested however the size and color of the furniture you bring into the room will certainly affect the layout. Also, is this picture taken from a kitchen? (it looks like a tiled eating bar at the bottom of the shot or maybe that is a fireplace mantle?)

I just LOVE the natural light in your room.

Will you be wanting to use this room also for reading? If you do, then I would want some seating with the window behind me to maximize the natural light.

Whatever you decide. Measure, measure, measure. Sofa's and chairs look a lot smaller in the show room than they do in a house. What I do is put down painters tape with the measurements and it gives my an idea if it will work or not.
