Why don't you check your newspapers, Craig's List and E-Bay. Even if it is not black, your handy spray can will work wonders on a red bed. :) That is a very inexpensive bed so in order to get another that you like you might have to buy a preloved one.

Why do you think it's been discontinued?

It said "new" on the web site so I did some store searching. It wasn't in New York or Chicago, but was in San Diego.

Maybe it will just take a little while to get farther east.

It's no longer available from what I have been told. It wasn't on the website for the longest time but it's back now. I have no idea why it says "new" because it's not.

At my local ikea it was being sold as "last chance" and now it's gone (yeah I should have bought it then but I didn't).

Sorry, I just can't do used. Just can't. For anything. I'm sure you can get great finds but it's my little quirk.

I like the look of that bed and while I don't want to spend major bank I can afford more than ikea prices (but I do looove ikea)
