Sounds like her License to Breed should be revoked!

Maybe she's just trying to get some attention. My XSIL was not able to get pregnant. Her uterus was "tilted" almost 1/2 way (according to her) meaning that the little fellas had no pathway to the egg. But, every couple of months, if nothing else was going on in the family, she would come up saying she thinks she could be pregnant and look how she's gaining weight and she's nauseous. Good grief! Everyone knew there was NO WAY she could get pregnant, but, for some reason, they fell for it every time.

It sucks! I know how you feel. BM in our case does not take care of the 3 kids she had with dh and left behind. Then she goes and has 3 more!!! I am sure she gets tons of state help to raise them!

Here we are with my one and dh's three and I would love to have one together, but sometimes I think that would be too much. Other times I think it would be fine since all our kids are already older (ages 6-14). But nothing has happened and every time I turn around BM is pregnant! It makes me a bit jealous at times and then down right pissed at other times.

Hopefully since BM in your case was sitting around drinking martinis she is not really pregnant.....
Makes me so sad that women can be so irresponsible as to drink when they suspect they are pregnant!

lol, my SD's mom hasn't claimed to be pregnant, but she's announced her upcoming wedding three times in the last year... UMMM she's still married to her older daughter's father. HAHA

It could be for attention... if she ran out and got married two weeks before you, just to steal your thunder... she's probably blowing smoke you know where. If she is having another baby, it's probably going to be a good thing for you since she'll make herself so busy she won't have time to be a thorn in your side. It may end up with your DH getting his son more often too.

Don't let what she does bother you. Stress is not good when you are trying to conceive. Just remember, it's not a competition and she can't WIN. Her life is what she makes it, your life is what you make it... plain & simple. Focus on your happiness and if she spends all her time trying to one up you or outdo you and WIN, then how happy do you really think she is?

Actually, Ashley, a tipped uterus (or tilted, retrograde, there are several terms for it) does not mean a woman can't conceive. My uterus is tipped and I have my DD. My grandma's uterus is also tipped (it tends to run in families) and she had two children and 1 miscarriage.

Just an FYI. :) I suppose if it were really extreme it might be an issue--and I do know there are corrective surgeries they can do to right a uterus but I always thought that was more to do with pain/discomfort than infertility.

Ima, you are right, I know. It just hit me hard for some reason. But she is always trying to one-up or take away from us---and I have to remind myself NOT to give her the power to do that! She CERTAINLY doesn't know we are TTC--and honestly, when I DO get pregnant, we will keep that information to OURSELVES as long as possible.

As far as the drinking goes...unfortunately, she drank her way through her pregnancy with her DD...so for her to be out drinking martinis means nothing in regards to whether or not she is pregnant.

Love - See? That's what I get for ever listening to a thing she said! LOL! Sheesh! I figured ONE of her lies must be closer to the truth. Guess I figured wrong. LOL!

Oh well.....Just remember that as much attention as she wants/needs, you don't want to have THAT kind of attention. And you're better off not having any attention at all than to have that. I know that's a PITA to do, but it's definitely the truth.

A friend started dating a married man in March of 07. She found out she was pregnant with his baby in August 07. They weren't using any kind of protection......at all. He didn't have any kids and she already had a 8 y/o son from a previous relationship and had been very adamant that she didn't want any more kids because she had preeclampsia (sp?) with her son. He was still married. He didn't file for divorce until after they found out. His divorce was final in November 08. So then they broke their lease to move in with his mom because she was on bed-rest and only getting 60% of her pay. This was in February 08. Baby born in March 08. He proposed to her in like May 08. They started planning a wedding. Then didn't have enough people to pay for it so decided to go to Vegas instead. No one to foot the entire bill for that so they postponed. Instead of getting married, they rented a house (but only about 80% of it) and got a puppy. I just got an invitation to their reception because they're going to the courthouse on Friday to get hitched. BTW, he hadn't even been divorced a year. OH! And here's a kicker....his ExW's name is the same name as my friend's. How smooth is this dude???

All of that to say that I feel jealousy all the time because I've been waiting oh so patiently for FDH to propose. Every last one of my friends has gotten married and had babies in the time since FDH and I started dating. Hellyeah it stings! And my friend doesn't make it better because they're always trying to one-up us as if beating us to the alter is some great feat. But I don't want it the way they have it. I don't want everyone not thinking it will last.
