Where to get the little buttons for a glass top table

I am having no luck finding the clear little plastic/silicone buttons you use to separate a glass table top from the metal frame. Looking online is hard becasue I'm not even sure what they're called. Thanks for any ideas.

I've had glass tops made by a local glass company for two pieces I own and want to use, yet protect. The glass company provided me with the plastic/silicone buttons you are looking for. Have you checked with whomever fabricated the table tops for you? I think that would be your best source.

Hobby Lobby has them in their picture framing department. I bought them from their bulk supply. If you are not near a Hobby lobby, you might check picture framers in your area.

I stuck with it and finished the glueing a long time ago. Finally decided to grout it when I was grouting a couple of other things last week. It took some time but I like the way it turned out. I was worried about it going outside and getting blown over in the wind but since I've had it finished my grandsons have knocked it off and into the floor a couple of times and it didnt break. imjustsam, this took longer than I thought it was going to. I thought it would only take about a week but then I got busy with some things so it took longer than expected. I'll post pics when I grout it too. Thanks, Deb

I think if you want clean, glass is the way to go. The pawprints, fingerprints, splatters, who knows what are still there on the wood. Unless you have a poly surface, you can't wash them off. Same with tile grout. People get colors to hide the dirt. I would rather know the dirt is there to clean it off. Seeing everyone's legs under the table is funny! I guess I have never eaten a meal at a glass table to remember that. Tablecloths are a good solution for meal time to get around that one. I prefer wood but don't feel it is a clean surface as others do. That bothers me but I doubt I will ever have a glass table because they feel modern to me. You can repair damaged wood on a good table but the glass gets scratched forever. I don't think it is cheap to replace!

I'm laughing here: I thought Holly-Kay was from Maine or Canada, talking about wicked drips. Then Daisy-chain used the same word--Ah! as in a wick, not like evil. I had thought about that--any spills might travel. Fortunately, it is a house that won't be used much and mostly by adults so drips ought to be absorbed by placemats or tablecloths. The house will be used from time to time by my sibs and other relatives, who may or may not be careful with something in the kitchen-- I think a kitchen can stand "plastic slip covers." If I hate it, I'll just take it off. Thanks, all! (What a foolish statement--implying that kitchens don't require care.....they require more care these days than living rooms! marble, limestone, granite, polished nickel, brass....and on and on!)

I have bought several packs from Home Depot and Lowes in the last couple of years.

Thanks to all, I will look at Home Depot, etc. ANy suggestions as to what I should ask for?

I would go to the hardware section of HD where they sell felt protection pads and see if they have any clear plastic ones nearby.

I just bought some for a glass topped table that we moved with us and the little silicon buttons didn't make it. I bought them at Home Depot and yes, they were in the section with the felt adhesive protective pads and the floor glides for the legs of chairs etc. to protect floors from scratches.
