Should I stick it out?

I'm very torn and wondering if some voices of experience can point me in the right direction. OK here goes. I met my fiance (he just proposed) about a year ago. When I first met his ex it was very civil and coming out of a previous relationship with a crazy ex I asked her if she thought that there was any hope for reconcilation cuz if there was I would walk away. She said no and we had some good conversations for awhile. A couple months later she became enraged when I bought a waterslide for the kids and asked me if I knew that my fiance was sleeping with her right after he started dating me and it happened every 2 weeks up till the point that I moved in. He didn't deny it to me but stated that it was pure spite because she never wanted to have sex when they were married. He said that our relationship was not serious at that time and swore that since I moved in that it stopped. Well ever since I moved in she has become increasingly hostile yelling at me in front of the children when I was 5 minutes late dropping them off. The kids were so positive with me until she started changing and since that time they have become very defiant with me which I understand because of course kids are going to side with their mom but it hurts like hell but I keep trying to take the high road and always say positive things about her to the kids. Well the other day she called and asked my fiance if he could help out with some expenses for the kids and he stated that he couldn't afford it this week well when she picked up the kids that day right in front of his 6 and 7 year old said daddy had enough to buy her an engagement ring but not to help you play hockey. And my fiance balled his eyes out we both took off work that night he kept sobbing what did I do I felt horrible and helpless as this is not the first time one of her tirades has caused him to call in sick cuz it just destroys him when she starts with him and it kills me to watch it. We have the kids 3 days a week and she does 4 and I have a feeling that the next time they come the youngest will now be acting like the other 2 acting out around me. I love this man but am I blind? Does anyone have any sound advice.
