Just an added note; windows are to replace single pane wood framed windows with real wood mullions that have metal storms in a 1984 colonial. Our current windows are quite drafty even with the storms. I do believe new windows would make us more comfortable but think this is really expensive.

Fiberglass is expensive alone, then throw a stainable interior..its expensive but within normal.
Infinity are so much nicer better than pella fiberglass which are total garbage and cheap looking in my opinion.

In CT, if interested in the colored interior because of all of our stained woodwork, is vinyl an option or are other less expensive options to look at? I do have a Sunrise dealer coming, but he can't make it for another 2 weeks.

Sunrise or soft lite elements are great options. Make sure sunrise ismthe vanguard or restorations.

The Infinity is a nice window, but unless there are some incredible circumstances present here, nearly $1400 per unit is definitely on the high side. Not to mention that you are taking a significant hit in energy efficiency when compared to a premium vinyl like Softlite, Okna, Himark, Softlite. I'd shop around a little bit more ;)

I've been able to send off requests for Sunrise and Okna.

I had them break the quote out. It ran $19,464 for the 17 windows, $6810 for the picture windows and $8384 for the 2 sliders.

I've been reading some nice things about the Okna, and was so surprised that those windows rate higher than the fiberglass. I am hoping that I can find something in one of those top end vinyls that will match or come close to my trim. I can't see looking at white windows with all my walnut stained woodwork, trim and baseboard. I can't really find any pictures to look at, but the image in my head is just not pleasant.

Sandra, a couple of facts that I recently found out when I was in your exact position. Sunrise make at least 4 types of windows those being Essentials,Sunrise,vanguard and the top of the range Restorations.However if you go to the Sunrise website you wont see any mention of Vanguard and Restorations as they are marketed seperately under their own sites. Your Sunrise dealer will most likely not carry these units and may as happened to me actually deny that they exist. They are also sold seperately with their own dealers. Best thing to do is compare the features of each type on their individual websites and then arrange to meet the agent for whichever window you prefer. The good news is that you will see a saving in comparison to Infinity. Good luck!

Your sunrise dealer probably didnt know they existed. I highly doubt he was being dishonest.

Wow Samia, that is shocking. Like mmarsel I'd like to give the guy the benefit of the doubt, but after that type of behavior you are probably right. I'd contact sunrise and let them know the type of outfit that is representing their product.
