Venting...sorry.

So, I know I donÂt post very much, but I have to get this off my chest.

A little back storyÂ

FDH adores his kids (5 1/2 and 7 1/2 y.o. boys). He would very much like to see his kids more and tries to. In fact we live 5 minutes away so he can pick them up from school some afternoons to get more time with them, and so he can see them on short notice. We have them EOW and usually once a night per week. He wasnÂt very successful with getting more weeknights with them from BM. He tried to get her to extend weekends from Thur. to Mon. instead of Fri. to Mon. She said no. She also took them for more than her share of summer vacation. He initially resisted but then gave in because he "doesnÂt want to make waves" (I know, thatÂs a problem thereÂ). But, when we came home from our summer vacation she calls and wants them 2 days earlier because 3 weeks is too long to go without seeing them. (However, she had them for over 4 weeks (France has long vacationsÂ) and when he wanted to come visit them after their vacation with her, she said no.) So, he offered to bring them to visit her and she said, "No". She wanted to have them spend the night. Then she calls the kids and says how much she misses them and is sad and that she wouldnÂt be sad anymore if they come to her house tonight. Of course they go and FDH is in tears. Now she will be taking them for more than her share of their October school vacation, which was planned without consulting FDH. But, HEREÂS THE KICKER. SheÂs complaining to everyone that will listen (except FDH) that FDH isnÂt pulling his weight by taking the kids enough. SheÂs telling everyone that sheÂs had to turn down a good job that required her to travel a bit because he wonÂt take the kids enough. Arrrgh! And to tell both sides of the story itÂs true he canÂt take them Mondays or Tuesdays because he works across the country. But, he took that job because she would never let him see the kids early in the week. Plus, now he has the job, heÂs contractually obligated to give between 6-12 months notice before leaving the position. So, even if she stumbled upon a new job and he would give up the one he has now, he wouldnÂt have those days free before 6 months.

Plus, sheÂs had this boyfriend bouncing in and out of her life. Last time they were together he was living in her house with the boys. And they boys were getting attached to him. Then, one morning, he tells them, see you tonight. And just never comes back. He just up and left. This was about 6 months ago. Well, guess whoÂs back? Utter confusion on the boyÂs parts. And they fight like cats and dogs. FDH and I argue, of course. But we donÂt yell. They smash plates against the wall.

I know IÂm just venting and rambling. It just makes me so mad that this woman acts on whims and says whatever she wants, without regard to who sheÂs hurting.
