Disengaging?

So many posters commonly use the term disengaging when in regards to certain aspects in ones life. My question is how do you do this? I have been trying to do this, but with failure at every turn. I try not to bother myself with the details of a lot of stuff going on in my life, not just my SD. But I am finding it so hard. I find myself falling apart a lot, my emotions so high due to the final weeks of pregnancy. My DH and his ex spend 4 hours Saturday and Sunday EOW together while he plays with his DD. I find this bothers me, I know childish, but it's just hard as I look in the mirror and see what I see. I look at my son and see him second in my DH's life in regards to children and when the baby is born I see in moving down to third. My DH doesn't know how to share his attention when there are more then one child in the area. My 13 and 1 year old SIL spend time here in our pool or we are over at there house in there pool, I notice that when they are around his attention gets diverted more to the 13 y/o and to the 1 year old, and I find myself getting upset that my 3 year old is left being ignored, this bothers me when in the pool and he is not a very good swimmer.

There is just so much I am having a hard time "disengaging" from, and am in need of help. I stopped going to the counseling as we couldn't afford it, but think I will start back up again regardless.

But I need help, how do I disengage from so much that I have no control over!?
